On the surface, Kade can appear incredibly stubborn and a little attention-seeking, constantly chasing the next opportunity for his big break. He's not as vain as he seems, but he can get lost in the facade and say things he regrets. Most of these abrasive behaviors stem from his insecurities; if he can't be famous, he can at least act like he is. Despite his faults, Kade can be incredibly trustworthy, always looking out for his friends even to the point of selflessness. With those he trusts, he feels comfortable enough to act much more sensitive and less arrogant.

a night on the town

Kade and Sable used to perform all the time on street corners or in clubs, and one of these times, they discovered a place called Flashing Lights. It quickly became their favorite place to go, and the two of them ended up befriending the owner of the club. WHAT YOU GONNA DO lets them stay after hours, so the back room of Flashing Lights has become a secret meeting place for Kade and its friends. More recently, however, it spends most of its time there alone.

Kade's TV show

Kade's been trying for years to get themselves on television, with all of their plans falling through in some way. This has been their dream since they were young, and in recent years it's become more of an obsession. At this point they've almost stopped performing with Sable altogether, and most of their time spent with friends involves something related to this future TV show. Everyone Kade trusts believes they need a break, but all they see it as is dismissing their dream. And maybe they're beginning to give up on it too... until one night when they sneak backstage after a new star's successful show.

Relationships

Athakanda [ mother ]

Athakanda's the stricter of Kade's two parents, and often disapproves of her child's more risky adventures (even though she secretly finds some of them quite amusing). Despite their differences, she will never stop cheering Kade on!

Cassie [ parent ]

Cassie is a little more of a pushover, and as such is the parent her child always goes to to ask permission. She may not know exactly what to say to Kade without Athakanda's help, but she does want the best for her child.

Sable [ close friend ]

Sable's been Kade's closest friend since childhood. Even though they don't often perform together as often as they used to, the two of them always make sure to come to each other's shows. However, she tends to be quite intrusive, and as such gives (often unhelpful) advice to aid in Kade's TV show misadventures.

Dasyatu [ close friend ]

No one's entirely sure how Kade and Dasyatu first met, and it doesn't help that the manokit is oddly secretive of anything he likes. Kade is one of the few creatures Das opens up to.
