Athakanda can be a little arrogant and often believes she knows the best for everybody. She may not be wrong often, but her blunt attitude often discourages others from listening to her. While she may not be the best at comforting others, she does try her best to help them, and is unwaveringly honest. Around those she trusts, Athakanda is willing to open up about her insecurities, sometimes even being willing to take advice from those she is close to.

Early life

Athakanda had lived on the outskirts of the city since she was born, spending the vast majority of her time in museums and libraries. While she quickly gained a reputation for giving all kinds of advice to the creatures around her, she was never really close with anyone. Galdoran, a griffin she met on one of her research trips, was her first real friend. However, she soon became close with Cassie, and the two ended up dating right before she left for one of her trips.

Present day

Once Athakanda returned to the city, the two prepared to move in together. They live on the second floor of their bookshop, which sells copies of ancient manuscripts that Athakanda has translated herself. Despite getting married and adopting Kade, she has not settled down in the slightest. She keeps up regular correspondence with Galdoran, and sometimes leaves for several weeks on research trips. While Cassie is somewhat afraid of traveling and leaving the city behind, Kade used to go with Athakanda when he was younger.

Relationships

Cassie [ partner ]

Athakanda has always admired Cassie and her endless compassion from afar, and was pleasantly surprised when the two became friends. Cassie confessed their love to the dragon several years into their friendship, and since then, the two have been dating. Despite how busy Athakanda can be, she always makes sure to spend time with them.

Kade [ child ]

Athakanda is the stricter of Kade's parents, and often disapproves of her child's more risky actions. As such, she is usually the one more comfortable with talking to her child directly, and has been a large source of guidance for him. Still, she sometimes worries she acts too harsh, especially as Kade has grown more distant in recent years.

Galdoran [ best friend ]

Athakanda met Galdoran on her first research trip, and the two quickly bonded over their shared love of ancient manuscripts. He is often the first to notify her of newly discovered artifacts, and both of them can spend days translating them together.
