Matsurou Kazuo

Kazuo grew up in a small house in Nagoya's lower income residential district.  There he was forced to live his life as the incorrect gender and under the incorrect name.  He refuses to talk about these events due to having a very bad falling out with both his parents which led to him being kicked out of the house with hardly anything in his hands.  Because of his parents disowning him and telling themselves they've never had children, Kazuo had to drop out of high school and find a job.  He worked several different convenience stores to get money and for the first few months spent only the bare minimum on food and water so that he could save up for a small apartment.  He was terribly malnourished when he was able to afford his own place, but he was lucky in that the landlady treated him fairly and offered to cook for him when he was hungry.  He graciously took that up and he considers her like a grandmother now.

After working for a few years, he met another trans person on the streets, a younger girl who had also been disowned by her parents for choosing to come out to them as a trans woman.  Kazuo offered his place to her, saying she could stay there with him.  He became quite fond of the girl, whose name was Aichi, and they became as close as true siblings.  When they went to get their name changed, they chose the same surname, Matsurou.

While Kazuo worked, Aichi elected to go to school, wanting to get her degree in fashion design.  He saved up money and helped her through it, her riding by on scholarships and when that didn't have enough, he supplemented his own cash.  When Aichi was outed by a classmate, however, she had to quit school due to the harassment that she and Kazuo received.  He decided then that they would move away, start over, and try to live in a more accepting place.

Kazuo and Aichi both worked for over a year, and when they had enough saved, they moved, immigrated to the US, and found a small apartment in the lower end of San Diego.  There, Aichi was able to transfer what few credits she had from her former college to another in the states, and Kazuo found a few jobs working in construction and demolition work.

On the side, however, he knew that this wasn't enough for them to live on.  Aichi still had scholarship money, but she needed a lot more things in America than in Japan, so he took up underground boxing.  Matches weren't public and they often were bet on illegally, so he knew this was a risk.  However, this is where he met Davin, a young man in the ring whom he fought against for a rather decent sum of cash (his winnings equaled around 1,000 before paying his bookie, afterwards around 850 dollars total).  They got to talking afterwards and found themselves rather interested in one another.  After some time hanging out with each other, Aichi told Kazuo to stop dancing around the subject and ask him out.  Kazuo was rather shocked, because he hadn't told his sister that he was interested in the other man, but she could easily see how he looked at Davin and how he felt.  It took a lot of planning but the two eventually got together, and have been happily dating ever since.
