Notes
- He took karate classes between the ages of 6-15
- He can play the piano quite well
- Despite his love of video games he's really not very good at most of them, and losing at them is one of the few things that can get him to really lose his temper
- Though he was offered the chance to be skipped ahead a grade in school more than once he always rejected the offer, wanting to stay in the same grade as his friends instead
Doug Simone
Appearance
Hair: Short "blonde" hair (it's more of a canary yellow color than a natural blonde) with shaggy bangs. As he gets older he lets it grow out in the back and it sticks out on the sides in a feathered, retro 70s kind of style
Eyes: Fairly wide, emerald green eyes (though it's difficult to see their true color since he's always wearing that visor)
Build: He's quite tall and has an average/thin build and very little body hair and practically no muscle tone
Scars/Body Modifications/Other distinguishing features:None
Clothing: His favorite "outfit" is a white short-sleeve shirt with a black tie and black or grey slacks, worn with a belt. He also often wears polo shirts in various colors, combined with the black or grey slacks or blue jeans. He always wears a green visor and almost always a wrist brace on each hand for carpal tunnel syndrome. (Note that the visor functions as glasses and corrects both his poor eyesight and his color blindness.)
Personality
Disposition: Doug is definitely what one would call a “lazy genius” and is incredibly brilliant, but usually prefers not to put a lot of effort into anything he doesn’t find “fun.” Although he does enjoy being able to “one up” people and show off his intelligence whenever he can make a fool out of someone who deserves it he doesn’t normally flaunt his talents too much. Whether he means to or not he tends to think and speak more analytically than most and generally responds to things with scientific-sounding observations, sarcasm, or deadpan humor. He is fairly clueless when it comes to things of a romantic nature, and when such feelings are directed at him he seems not to notice (or maybe pretends not to).
Mannerisms: He is easily bored by conversations that don't involve things that are relevant to his interests, and one would be hard pressed to keep his attention (or get it at all) if they try talking to him while he's busying himself with video games or a computer. (In fact, sometimes he gets so immersed in his games that it can seem like he's lost in his own little world.) Talk to him about a subject he likes and he could go on for hours, though. It's rare for him to have strong reactions or become especially excited or angry about anything, though things can sometimes get a little "heated" when it comes to playing video games.
Voice: As already mentioned, he's a lazy guy, and usually has a bored, sarcastic tone to his voice. (If that makes any sense...) He speaks very clearly, never tripping over his words, and doesn't often put much emotion into his voice unless something upsets him in some way. (When I was younger I used to imagine he sounded a lot like Owen Wilson for some reason, and I guess he still kinda does? lol)

Background
As the only son of two scientists Doug was always pushed hard into schoolwork and academics and was rarely given the chance to just have fun and be a kid when he was younger. As he got older he became resentful of them for it and began slacking off and spending more time goofing around with his friends. Even so, he has always maintained high grades and is able to pass his classes and do his schoolwork easily and without much effort, and simply refuses to do more than the minimum that is expected of him.

Dave Friend
Dave is a good friend and a nice guy, but he can be a little....weird at times. Though the reason might be obvious to others, Doug genuinely doesn't understand why he can be so demanding of his attention or why HIS opinions & feelings seem to matter more than anyone else's in their group of friends. It all makes him feel just a little bit suffocated at times.
Jason Friend
He and Jason have always had such a good rapport, and of all his friends he feels he is the easiest to hold long conversations with. And though they can get into heated discussions at times and have little spats here and there over video games, he always enjoys the time they spend together, and there is never a dull or awkward moment between them.
