Bio

As an elderly witch grew tired of the hassle of losing her pins along her workbench, she decided to enchant a hand-made doll to take care of her pins and needles. It wasn't a very long time before her friends wanted their own pin-cushion to give them a hand around their sewing boxes. The elderly witch started a store after only a few years, employing a few delicate handed witches to continue making them.

These small child-like creatures are sold in two pieces, their tails + their bodies. If the owner correctly and carefully attatches the tail to the torso, the enchantment will be brought into effect and the tiny bundle of cotton will spring to life. It is incredibly important for the owner of the Pombon to put the tail onto them themselves, ensuring that the Pombon would be linked with them.

The witches were able to put spells on their own Pombons to bring them to life and to keep them around for a long time, but since a lot of the elderly witches new customers lacked any magical properties, the witches had to bestow less powerful spells onto the Pombons. This allowed the customers to bring them to life and personalize them for their own needs, but drastically shortened the small ones lifespan.

The Pombons are only given one blessing by the witches that manufacture them, meaning they age and limbs can't be sewn back on and work. They will lose their life if their stitches aren't cared for with each use or if they spill too much of their cotton-insides. Although, even with the most care and love, they will eventually wear down and stiffen up, becoming unable to move. This usually happens after about 15-20 years.

Their tail is big enough to fit 20-30 pins, and it never causes any pain for them. In fact, it can cause a gentle tickling sensations and it can be hard for young Pombons to restrain giggles whilst they're being pricked.

Pombons are entirely dependant to their owners and will unravel stitches if they become neglected. It is critical that they are ever so carefully handled, or their seams may tear. Pombons lack the ability to speak or form words, only able to make soft "meeps" occasionally, so it isn't in their power to complain about any uncomfort they're experiencing.

It is completely up to their owner treat them correctly and as such, these tiny dears are given to customers with the trust of the witches that created them. If a witch feels one of her spells fading abruptly, she will remove the Pombon from the owners possession and move them to a more caring and deserving home.

They don't need to eat or drink, they only require a safe sewing box to sleep inside of at night, preferably with a latch and comfortable fabric scraps to curl up on. It's not uncommon for a Pombon to be carried away by household pets or children as a toy, some even losing a limb or two in the process. So, they much, much prefer an enclosed space rather than being left out in the open.
