I adore them so dang much! Midas was a student of magic that was obsessed with old remnants and relics, including old factions of magic that had been lost to time - something the world's forefathers had forgotten for a reason. After stumbling across something that was better left in the centuries that came before, Midas went from potential faction head of celestial magic to something uncontrollable and angry and monstrous in the way nobody could stop, but that they could contain. Now Midas stands as the factions' dirty little secret; an incredibly powerful and fickle being that contains the knowledge of everything they'd spent so long to hide, including why certain factions of magic have been contained and hidden over time, just like them
Unfortunately for the magic factions at large, even their best efforts couldn't contain Midas entirely, so they've settled for containing Midas in a thick forest encircled entirely by impassable magic - almost impassable magic. From time to time creatures of all sorts have a tendency to somehow stumble across Midas' holding place and find ways to enter it, and that's when the fun begins
