Jack (Ruby)

"Yeah, you wanna fight me? Huh? You wanna--you wanna beat me to the ground? Wanna snub out my fire? Crack my gem, even?"

Jack (Ruby) || She/Her || 600 yrs || Aggressive || Exiled

Jack is a robust Gem, who flexes not only her muscles, but her mouth as well. She's a bold, bright red, and dons her gem on her chest. As part of a group of four Rubies who have been exiled from Homeworld, she's been left in isolation on a dry husk of a planet. Had it not been for her anger issues and overstimulation, she would've fit fine enough in the crowd of her fellow soldiers. She was deemed to be out of control and far too disruptive to be of use to the Gem empire. 

While Rubies are known for their feisty passion, Jack takes it overboard. One of her most prominent points of personality is her anger, and how it gets in the way of social interaction and general relationships. Her brute strength is her greatest weapon, naturally, but can be proven far too destructive. When she's not so aggressive, she keeps herself busy by talking with the other Rubies, Sombre* and Fever. If left alone, she erupts in her own head, leading her to either thrashing debris around in a fit, or smoking black ash from the planet's apocalyptic volcano. 

In all truth, Jack is certainly deeper than her prominent anger. The aggression works as an easy façade to cover up her spiraling loneliness. She's been so used to other Gems avoiding any sort of a friendship with her; despite being exiled with two Gems who include her, she doesn't seem to accept it. Jack has a difficult time letting others into her orbit, no matter how much she yearns for it. Jack feels just as inadequate as the others, as well as empty and chaotic inside. She can be self destructive when she's by her lonesome. The longer she remains socially-deprived, the further she detaches. The only Gem she found she could truly open up to is Pyre*, the love-fusion between Fever and Sombre.

The only time Jack is constructive/positive is when she's set on building structures. This Gem loves to create her own spaces out of scrap metal and anything else she can find. She helps construct hideouts and communal spaces for the group of Rubies to gather. Being around friends inspires and motivates her to build. There's no clue as to how many structures she's created, as many are made in secret just for her. Jack also has a knack for singing about how she feels, as most Gems do--except it would more likely be considered screaming in her case. She's pretty proud of what she can do.

Jack spends most of her time with Fever. They tend to snap at each other, but that's how they naturally like to interact. It's enjoyable for Jack to wrangle Fever into doing what she wants; Fever has fun feeling like she's being rebellious alongside her. When it comes to Sombre, Jack will take on a more protective role, given she's so meek and vulnerable. As Sombre heals and grows more optimistic, she becomes just as much a best friend to Jack as Fever.

 However, when it comes to the fourth Ruby, Necro*. . . she has a passionate hate. 

The burly Gem is quick to taunting and pushing Necro* to the edge. Jack feels good telling her off, especially as her own means of defense for the other two. Though Necro is magically aligned, she's been poked enough to take on a fight with Jack, easily winning due to her combined strength of 3 Rubies. Being beat to a pulp and retreating to her gem never taught Jack much of a lesson. If anything, this added to her fiery hate for the Gem, and feels she will one day have her moment to deliver payback. 

All in all, Jack is the second most broken of the bunch. But she gathers all her strength to try and keep pushing on. The more she gets into her own head, the less self control she has. It's not guaranteed, but it's possible she could slip.... and shatter.
