ABOUT

74872835_NZGLOQJKgRnDCE1.png"Quote"

Kami is usually seen as a chill person who teases people a lot, but can get real scary when she snaps. She can also be pretty strict. Kami was always taught to be sympathetic for those who weren't as fortunate as her, so she often feels like she’s obligated to help and protect her friends and loved ones in every way possible, especially since their childhood weren’t as decent as hers. She cares deeply for those who she considers some of her closest friends, and becomes absolutely terrified in a situation where she feels as if she’ll lose them. She would feel like she failed as their friend; she loves them too much to lose them. She isn’t one to shy away from showing affection towards her loved ones, and won’t rest until she’s helped them. She’s not necessarily overprotective, but is stern with orders in very serious situations.

Though she’ll never purposely start them, Kami will not pass down the chance to see an ongoing drama, and loves listening to gossips. Kami will not usually intervene with these skirmishes, and will just watch the work unfold itself out of curiosity, but also because she’s not used to getting involved. She would also sometimes take her friends’ things to mess with them for fun, but would give it back afterwards.

ABILITY:

She has the power to take and manipulate her own and/or other people’s/thing’s shadows to attack or defend with. Her go-to weapon is a scythe. The strength of the things she create depend on how much shadow she’s taken. The bigger the form of the shadow, the less durable it becomes unless she has enough shadow to make it strong enough. Once she’s finished using her power, all the shadow she’s taken will be released back to where it came from.

Kami can also create and manipulate (only her own) fire when in her alternate form, which she called her Fyre Form. She can access her fyre form if she comes in contact in any form of fire, triggering her alternate form. This form also increases her physical strength. The downside is that her shadow powers weaken when in her fyre form.

If Kami is fit to trigger her fyre form, or if she IS in this form, she‘s immune to fire. She can, involuntarily, revert back to her normal form if she is exhausted. By this point, she is no longer fire resistant until she’s ready for another form switch. Accessing her fyre form is technically involuntary as well since she can’t control her body to power-up or not if she does touch fire, but at least she has a bit of control by just simply trying to avoid or purposely touch fire.

  • Her cheek fur is very long and fluffy.
  • The wings on her fyre form don’t attach to her back.
  • Her tail is shaped similarly to a demon tail.
  • She has lean muscles.

BACKGROUND

BACKSTORY

Kami had a pretty decent childhood, growing up in Koral Village, one of the friendliest villages around. Although she was rather rowdy and reckless at times, risking her own safety and anyone else unfortunate enough to hang out with her. Surprisingly she was actually an overall good kid. She got good grades, was never the kind to bully or start fights, and respected the adults. If anything, she will defend those who are being bullied.

Kami discovered her ‘fyre form’ at the age of 7, but never told her parents about it as she was afraid of getting in trouble since she didn’t know what it was at first. As Kami grew older, she concluded that she was just lucky with genetics and was born with a second ability, but still never got the chance to tell her parents about it.

She had an overbite as a kid, so she had to wear braces from 10 until she was almost 15 to help with it. She also met Cataclysm at some point in her childhood, and hung out with him every once in a while.

During her early teens, Kami had this habit of dating every girl she found pretty, or any girl who’d confess to her as long as she wasn’t already dating anyone at the time and the confessor wasn’t a bully or anything. She thought it made her look cool, although would break up with them after losing interest for about a month. Aizen was one of these people, and their relationship actually lasted a little longer than Kami’s previous ones.

Kami met Nate at some point at this age and has taught him not to judge others based off of a certain group.

TRAVELING

After breaking her last phone from another one of her reckless acts, Kami’s parents decided not to give her another till she’s matured. Kami got so bored that she just decided to go out on adventures like many other kids around her age, rather than finish school, at 16.

She met Nate, as well as Furizu, again later on, and ended up living with them at Hideaway Forest. At 17, Kami met Glazer and Luminalt while doing a little adventure. She had a little chat with them and got to hear the story about Glazer’s nicked ear. She helped the kitten learn some basic combats since Luminalt never wanted to do that herself, though permitted Kami to do so. Kami wanted to continue her little adventure, so she couldn’t stay long to teach Glazer a lot, and eventually left.

At almost 18, Kami had met Ashe, and quickly fell for her. She showed straightforward signs of liking her whenever she found the opportunity to do so. At first, she only continued to chase after her because she’s used to girls immediately liking her back, so it was a little embarrassing for her when Ashe didn‘t reciprocate. But after some time of actually trying to get to know her, Kami ended up truly loving her unlike her previous relationships.

Kami used to be extremely flirty with her, and used to be incredibly jealous, but overtime has toned herself down. When Ashe was attacked by Cascade, Kami and her friends had saved her. Kami knew the situation was too serious even after it was over, so she didn’t act the way she usually did around Ashe. She didn’t save her to try to win her over, but did so out of the good in her heart and as a friend. She did the same thing a month later when Cascade kidnapped Ashe with her friend Kaizo. These events costed her scars across her face from Lex, who scratched her out of overflowing anger for her brother’s death.

When she was 20, Kami was run into Glazer again. He was looking for a place to settle in. It wasn’t hard for Kami to convince her friends to let him live with them because of how much they trust her. Kami continued training Glazer until he was fully capable of defending himself and be able to control his power more now that they spent more time together.

Kami would often taunt and tease her opponents when in combat. Unfortunately, this will sometimes catch her off guard, but she still proceeded with this habit until she had met Phyre. The two had done a lot of friendly battles with each other, and Phyre managed to convince Kami not to taunt and tease her opponents so much in battle. Kami realized how much more focused she can get, and ended up not doing her bad habits as much anymore.

Years later, at 23, Kami had been talking to Furizu a lot about moving to Leaflet Village. The two planned ahead a lot, and already saved up enough to buy a house they picked out before telling Nate. Because Nate was so busy with his new life with Phyre, Kami didn’t want to bother him with all of this at the moment, though she knew he’d be fine with it, and he was.

SETTLING IN LEAFLET

After the death of Phyre, Kami decided to let Cascade stay with her and her friends so that she can keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn’t do anything against them again. Besides, she had promised Phyre she would take care of her sister if anything ever happened to Phyre, though that never really made Kami like Cascade any more. And she also wasn’t expecting anything to actually happen. Kami was angry at Cascade for what she’s done despite knowing it was an accident, but only ever showed slight annoyance and distaste for her. She watched almost every one of Cascade’s moves to make sure she doesn’t plan something again. Though often times, she saw Phyre in Cascade. She always felt guilty about Phyre’s situation, thinking she failed as her best friend. She’s always known about the way Phyre treated Nate, and tried so hard to fix everything. But being inexperienced in situations like these, and not knowing how to make both parties happy, Kami always failed to make more than a temporary solution. She thought that she could maybe undo her mistakes through Cascade, and fix her instead.

After a huge fight with each other almost a year later, Kami and Cascade did eventually tone their rivalry down. Cascade‘s feelings and relationship with Kami mostly remained the same, but Kami grew to consider Cascade as her close friend, even if it doesn’t seem like it. She even received a scarf from Cascade on her 24th birthday, something she wouldn’t have expected in a million years. And it took a while longer, but Kami has also began seeing Cascade as her own person rather than constantly associating as her with her sister.

When it came to Ashe, well, Kami still tried to shoot her shot when she can, just a lot more casually than before as she had toned down. Eventually Ashe actually grew to like Kami and they ended up together when Kami was 25. A couple of months after that, Kami met Aizen again at Serene City, along with her friends. As an adult, she never really brought up her teenage life, mostly when it came to stories that would bring up the mistakes she’s made. She was too embarrassed about it. But Aizen ended up hinting at her past, and Kami admitted defeat and confessed. She also finally apologized to Aizen after holding it back for a while out of embarrassment, and the two reconciled.

RELATIONSHIPS

Ashe talks to Kami the most as Kami initiates a lot of their conversations. She does try to help Ashe with her social skills whenever she can as she wants her girlfriend to form a better relationship with her own friends and loved ones.

Kami often finds Cascade irritating, but does acknowledge how much she’s improved even if it took her a while to accept Cas in her and her friends’ lives.

The two were very close since they first met, but Kami never had it in her to properly confront Phyre about her actions towards others, especially Nate. She feels extreme guilt after her death, realizing she never got to properly help either of them.

TRIVIA

  • Kami is my first character I made a human form of.
  • Kami likes to brush her hand from under her hair and swipe it upwards, as if trying to fix it. It’s a bit of a mannerism for her.
  • Kami is afraid of very high heights.
  • Kami is one of the strongest amongst her friends, if not, the strongest of them all.
  • Kami’s fighting style is to mostly tire out her opponents until she finds an opening to strike big attacks on them.
  • Kami’s fur/hair does get really long like other maine coon’s, but she often cuts them except around her face.
