About

Dasyatu is a little shy, and is often quite wary of strangers. However, they love spending time around anyone they're closer to, even though they tend to get incredibly drained with social interactions. They rarely speak, instead preferring to write or sign. Das often prefers quieter places and activities, but can sometimes get very hyper. They always appreciate a good joke, and can be very clever. True to their reclusive nature, they never show this side of themselves to most creatures.

Ocean life

For most of his life, Dasyatu's lived in a small village near the ocean with a few other manokits. It was incredibly peaceful, and he got along with some of the creatures there, but he never quite felt like he belonged. Almost everyone in the village had lived there since childhood, and most of their memories of him stemmed back farther than he'd like them to remember. And after his old friend Kura finally left, there was no reason for him to stay there.

City life

Dasyatu decided to move to the city because of Kade; while the place was not far from their old village, almost no one knew them from there. They adjusted quite well to their new home. Even though it is a lot more crowded, there are still plenty of quieter spots around. They've spent the last few years enjoying their new life, taking walks in the park with their friends and painting for a living. However, as Kade's begun drifting away from everyone else, Das has begun to grow more and more discontented. Nothing they do seems to bring anything back to normal.

Relationships

Kade [ close friends ]

Kade and Dasyatu have been incredibly close for several years now, ever since they helped find the manokit's sandcastle bucket at the beach. Kade is incredibly understanding of Das, and tries to make an effort to include him even though they can't take him to most of their performances.

Sable [ friends ]

At first, Sable was quite cold to Dasyatu, often implying that Kade was only friends with him because they felt bad. However, as Sable's matured she's begun to realize how horribly she's acted to him, and has tried her best to make up for it. Das and Sable are beginning to become quite close to each other.

Kura [ childhood friends ]

Dasyatu and Kura knew each other from their old village, and used to be quite close. Since Kura left the village long before Das did, he had given up all hope of seeing them again. But one day, the two of them ran into each other in the city, and since then, have been working on rekindling their old friendship.
