Reeve Sterling

Family: Lives at home with his twin daughters.  Their home is connected to a small research facility, which he renovated all by himself for the purposes of his portal research.

Bio: He is not an actual scientist.  Reeve Sterling is more accurately described as a dimensional hobbyist than a researcher.  From what his daughters can tell, he seemed to get big into portal science specifically after his wife passed away, perhaps as a way to distract himself from grief.  Spending a solid chunk of savings for his own private portal to freely mess with, his most radical theory is that portals could potentially open access to entire other alien worlds.  His vocal, unshakable investment in this idea has brought him flak from actual scientists, particularly Zephyr lu Krisan.  But a little criticism isn't going to stop him.

When Vinna disappears as a result of the portal glitch, he gets into an argument with Victoria over what to do about it.  Victoria is convinced Vinna has to be somewhere out there and must surely be trying to get back home, while Reeve believes she's no longer on Rixile at all.  Victoria heads off on her own, and Reeve throws himself back into his research.

Extra:

• His right eye is glass, and he has two prosthetic fingers on his left hand.
• He has a different family name than his daughters as blitzers traditionally do not change names at marriage, but children take the mother's family name.  He was still very much married, and is still very much their dad.
