Family: Lives at home with her twin sister and her father. Their home is connected to a small research facility; she likes to reverse engineer gadgets in the back.
Bio: Vinna Wyatt is a young adult working for the planetwide portal network; her main duties include setting coordinates for various departures and routine maintenance. She lost her mother before she ever really knew her, and grew up attached to her remaining family. The Wyatt sisters' dad works as a portal researcher within their own house, which exposed her to both theoretical sciences and mechanical engineering from a young age, and in turn inspired her to pursue her current job.
Chaos ensues one day when an earthen bursts into the portal station early morning while Vinna is calibrating it. He’s being chased by a giant bird with lightning magic, a very rare sight in Statica, and he collides into her, forcing them into the portal…and coming out on the other side halfway across the world in Shim-Dewrias. What’s worse, the portal they get thrown out of…appears to have been in disrepair for some time? And won’t turn on again?? Not only is this a highly strange occurrence, but now she has to deal with it alongside the man who just got her into this mess. With all these frustrations mounting, will she even be able to keep it together to find her way home?

- She is the main character, which tells you either that she is the everyman or that she’s going to be put through hell. Or both!
- Apparently the percentage chance of both identical twins being left-handed is >4%. That makes Vinna and Victoria pretty weird!

After traveling up through the continents of Asedai and Boretia, Vinna and Dino finally make it back to their hometown of Kierke. Vinna heads home first thing, exhausted from her journey, but it's immediately apparent something is wrong--Victoria is the one to answer the door, but she doesn't seem to recognize Vinna, claiming she's always been an only child. And behind her is...their mom?! Alive and well?! As Vinna desperately tries to get them to remember her, she mentions their father's portal research, but they seem confused about that, too. Then Reeve comes to see the commotion...and he doesn't seem to need prosthetics like the Reeve Vinna knows. He claims he isn't a portal researcher at all! The research facility in their house is being used as a lounge area?!
Vinna's head spins. She runs across town, desperate to find Dino, not even sure of where he lives. She successfully finds him and recounts everything in a panic. How did this happen? When did it happen? How?! Was it the portal they came out of in the first place, back in Shim-Dewrias? Have they been in this strange bizarro world where Vinna doesn't exist this entire time?
If this is true--if this is truly a world where she doesn't exist--what are the implications of this...? That without her, her mother would be alive, and her father without his injuries? Vinna quickly enters a downward spiral. Dino takes her to the nearest inn, too scared himself to go back home. Maybe there was something weird about his apartment too that he didn't notice...
They try their best to calm down and formulate a plan. The portal crisis is the biggest lead they have, but without Vinna's dad's research, who do they even consult?!
...There's always the person Vinna knows as Reeve's rival...if she's still a portal researcher in this world too, that is...
