Summary

Zachariah was born to a Dracanwynne and a Kiri in the far north of Drakost. In the blackened regions surrounding the Boiling Sea, his parents kept themselves and him secluded from society, including the other residents of what remained of Drakost. Because of this, he never really grew up with any other young. The only other being he could really call a 'friend' was another DracanKiri by the name of Leopald, who traveled with his family across Drakost. 

Because of this, Zachariah grew up with trust issues. He was taught by his father not to trust anyone other than himself, and he believed that. His personality hardened to rely on him and only him, even cutting off trust with his own parents. That's not to say he didn't love them, but his family promoted this idea as is. And he was rarely disturbed by this fact, save for whenever Leopald would tease him about it. He would say something along the lines of how that wouldn't get Zachariah a good boyfriend. 

As time went on, Zachariah began to venture Drakost more. He made his first travels to where the settlements on the island were, meeting other Kiri and species in the process. He was interested in the lack of Dracanwynne, though. His parents had never told him about the war that had waged between the Dracanwynne and Kiri, so he didn't understand the dislike until he had finally heard of it from some of the locals. It only made him roll his eyes. If his parents could get along, so could the species as a whole.

This is what made Zachariah decide to start helping with the Restoration project, determined to prove that the Dracanwynne are not all that terrible. After all, the war was over. And for a while, he was content with working together with the other Kiri, some DracanKiri, and few Dracanwynnes. But when Arahdo, the king of a neighboring land called Khahdos, returned to Drakost with a new species called Fruit Blooms, Zachariah was appalled. Had their species really fallen so low that they had to start growing fruit on their own beings? Not to mention how small they were. They had to be a joke.

Begrudgingly, though, Zachariah continues to help with the project beside his friend Leopald. He outright refuses to assist the Fruit Blooms, though, including Arahdo. He makes sure to stay clear away from them. He can be seen in the Drakost settlements on the occasion working, and when he's not there, he's usually back home relaying information to his parents about the project. He hopes they can return to society someday with confidence that their relationship is stable and accepted.
