Spider

Spider is an unusual and mysterious tom. He’s dedicated his entire being to acquiring new knowledge, having once sought power in pursuit of it. His past self’s reputation clings to him, as he’s often looked at with fear; others are unable to confidently read his motives or capabilities. Indeed, Spider can be a very strong cat. He doesn’t align himself with good or bad, order or chaos. He simply wants to achieve impressive feats, pushing himself and others to reach their fullest potential for the sake of truth— the satisfaction of understanding uncharted waters.

Spider is aware of how others view him, but he’s incapable of acting less vaguely. He believes his strangeness benefits him and others, and it’s what he’s most comfortable with anyway. He’s sprung to fixing every challenge he’s faced, disregarding the great risks the solutions might’ve posed to him. Though others may view him as aggressive, he only ever reacts to conflicts in a detached and defensive manner, similar to fixing a flaw in coding. His thought processes are self-absorbed, with him disconnecting from the emotional side of cats and following an extreme pattern of logic that doesn’t match their reality. Despite this, he is still a very modest cat and takes others’ complaints into great consideration, as he believes he must have the input of others to improve his techniques.

Often lost in his own reality, Spider is an incredibly isolated cat. He comes out of his shell only to test others for his data and enjoys relationships that are peer-based or based on intellectuality. He sincerely enjoys his solitude. He’s largely incapable of intimately connecting with others and so the anecdotes and emotions he shares with others are limited and often for a “purpose.” Nonetheless, he is considerably polite and friendly toward others.

Spider holds quite a bit of distrust toward others as a response to their fear of him. He believes that others can be particularly unpredictable toward him and that he may be a target of misinformation due to his solitary personality. He tries to maintain some sense of control over his interactions. He is selective with the information he shares and disengages whenever he feels that something is off. He typically attributes this carefulness to prioritizing his time and energy, though he is deeply afraid of others manipulating him on a personal level. He greatly values his autonomy.
