Personality

Kalliope means 'beautiful voice'. Her parents chose her name well, as she's known throughout the Regiment for the songs she sings to her patients. She hums while she works, and sings lullabies to lions needing sleep. Sometimes physical healing isn't the only thing that's needed, after all. It's nice that she's able to help others, through both that and just talking with them. Of all the medics, Kalliope is far more of a therapist, a mental healer, than a physical one. She's empathetic and easily understands the problems of others. However, she's more of a big picture lion, and sometimes misses details about things. Still, if there's anyone to go to if a chat is needed, to vent or talk through something, this is the lion to see. She's almost like the mom friend of everyone there. Sometimes hearing about all these things gets her down, but she finds the positive in life in the end.

History

Kalliope doesn't share much about where she was previously in her life. Though she listens a lot to the problems of others, she doesn't often speak about her own. She's not entirely willing to see what others will think about her if she does. She used to be a pickpocket in the town of Peaceful - though her bright fur color sometimes caused problems, she used it as a good diversion while she stole whatever she could. But after a time, she decided to reform. She left the town that had been her home, became a wanderer for a time, and eventually stumbled upon the Regiment that Brontes had begun and offered her services as a healer.

She didn't know all that much about healing, really, but she was fairly sure that she could figure things out. So Kalliope joined the group, found what she could assist with, and quickly became friends with the other medics. Over time, she became a delightful member and friend to many folks there, and she left her past behind, happily. If she could change her life, couldn't everyone? Perhaps her words, her listening and advice, could help with that. She would just have to wait and see.
