Cold, ruthless and brutal, that's what Incendius is known as in Hell. He climbed from the bottom to become one of the high-ranked demons that works under the Maestros of Hell. His job is to frequently roam the earth's surface (in his human form, ofc) to collect information from the human world, "deal" with sinful souls that got sent to Hell and "take care" of people that uses magic to cheat death. His powers mainly involves fire and brute strength.

However, due to his fascination with human cultures through out hundreds of years, Incendius developes a side that he rarely expresses. Behind the cruel, villainous facade, he's a sucker for mushy romcoms and the idea of a Happily Ever After. When he's not doing his usual Hell chores, he mentally lives in a fairytale, believing that he'll genuinely love someone and be loved by someone.

Seeing the world with rose-colored glasses makes him vulnerable when reality hits him.

Original Story

Incendius was originally sent to Hell as a sinful soul for taking his own life. Locked up as a prisoner, he was sent to the deepest depth of Hell, prepared to relive the moment he jumped off the building over and over again.

With ridiculous mental will, he escaped that layer of Hell and climbed through all 9 layers of Hell, all the way to the top, only to be stopped by a Hell gatekeeper. As he screamed and struggled his way out of the keeper's grasp, one of the Maestros - the highest ranking overlords of Hell saw him. Impressed by his strength and will to escape, Incendius was spared and reinstated as a low-ranked demon.

Incendius's performance was so spectacular that he eventually got promoted to serve right under the wings of the Maestro who spared him in the beginning. His main job was to deal with sinful souls, collecting information on the human world and deal with humans who uses magic to cheat death. He ended up spending a lot of time on Earth in his human form, learning the cultures and human behaviours, but due to his identity, he couldn't allow himself to make any human friends. Due to his Maestro aka his boss being absent from Hell most of the time, Incendius's schedule is pretty free and flexible.

From spending time in the human world, Incendius is impressed by human's ability to love, and how they express it through films, novels, words and actions. He began viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, and is infatuated with the idea of a Happily Ever After ending. He wanted to love and be loved like the humans that were putting on a show for him. But since he couldn't reveal himself, he kept roaming the human world as an anonymous wandering stranger that no one knows off. If someone recognizes him, he would just erased their memories of him in a blink of an eye.

But his peaceful, observant life came to a halt when he was spotted by guardian angels while investigating a church. Due to the neverending natural hatred between angels and hellborns, they ganged up and attacked him. He fled into the forest with serious injuries, unable to transform back to his Demon form due to the holy water sprayed on him, and hid in a cave behind a bed of flowers. He tried to contact his boss, but it seemed like he was off elsewhere. When Incendius began to lose hope, a guy with a pretty face and a bouquet of yellow flowers walked by, stopped to pick the flowers from the flower bed, and noticed the faint trail of blood that Incendius left behind.

The nice man was surprisingly good at bandaging up wounds. He introduced himself as Cendre, an ordinary guy in the town nearby. They quickly bonded that day, and when Cendre had to leave, as usual, when his back is turned, Incendius tried to wipe his memory of the event before vanishing back to Hell. But somehow, Cendre was immune and even turned back to give him a beautiful yellow rose before actually walking away. Incendius, dumbfounded with the rose, the kindness of Cendre and how he's immune to his power, grew interested. He yelled out, asked if he could meet Cendre again, and Cendre gave him a golden smile from afar that got Incendius's head spinning.

They began meeting everyday at the spot and Incendius finally understood what love feels like, whenever Cendre bandaged him up, whenever Cendre smiled his golden smile and laughed his gorgeous laugh. The world turned pink eversince he met Cendre, and Incendius believed he found Happily Ever After. Friendship turned into heated uncertainty due to Cendre's natural flirty nature, and Incendius didn't mind. He thought Cendre loved him just as much and he shouldn't even question. He would choose Cendre over his chores, his boss, himself, anything. He would go hunting for the prettiest yellow flowers to gift Cendre because they were Cendre's favorite.

Until the same group of angels from the church that day showed up in front of him and laughed in his face. "Go on, tell him." They said as they pushed Cendre in front of him, and his world was stripped from pink. Because Cendre had these radiant, beautiful angel wings on his back, his scars golden, his tears golden, streaming down his pretty, regretful face. Found out that he was lied to and felt disgusted, Incendius angrily turned back into his demon form, engulfed in Hell's fire as he vanished without a word. He shot Cendre a dirty look before leaving, and could never forget the horror in Cendre's eyes and how time seemed to have frozen at that moment.

Incendius stopped visiting the human world ever since, but 2 years or more passed and his boss summoned him, asking him to come stay for a while on earth. "I want you to pretend to be my brother - a fire wizard", his boss said. His mission this time was to come teach fire magic to a young magician that's his boss's apprentice, named Yuu. They quickly bonded as they all lived under the same roof. Yuu has a pink haired friend named Magnolia that often visited for their occasional tea parties, and one fateful day, Magnolia dragged his caretaker - a certain familiar face along to the party. Incendius, with his broken teacup on the ground, wished Magnolia hadn't.

Phantasmagoria Arc

Yuu and Magnolia were chased by the King's guards. Magnolia (was possessed by Cassian) and Yuu opened a portal with magic for an emergency escape. It went wrong. The portal remained open, they entered and didn't come out. Astre and Cendre jumped in the portal to find them, and Incendius casually walked in out of curiosity.

Phantasmagoria is a nightmare-like, fairytale based world that fucks with anyone who enters it. People who enter will be transformed into Soul Reapers - an alternate form of themselves, as a character in different fairytales. Its where backstories no longer matter because they are re-written. They get to keep their memories of the people closest to them, but forget things about themselves. The only way to escape Phantasmagoria is to find “Original-self”.

To find “Original-Self”, anyone who wants to escape has to slaughter other people in Phantasmagoria. Killing the right people will give the killer a Soul drop, which can be exchanged for a piece of memory of their “Original-Self”. This makes the killing process very random, since killing the wrong people with reward the killer nothing (but guilt). The key to finding the targets to kill is to identify your fairytale story, then to kill the people that play the role of your enemies in that fairytale. If killed, your body would be found in the real world.

Incendius, upon entering Phantasmagoria, was given the name RRD. His fairytale story is based on The Little Red Riding Hood, meaning he has to target enemies in the same story in order to gain Soul drops, such as the people who assumed the identity of The Wolf - not to be confused with the Big Bad Wolf from other stories.

Upon entering, he was given two assassin knives and dropped in the middle of a forest. The area was pretty much empty, so he had to live off of wild berries for a long time. He killed a "Wolf" in the forest, and seeing that they dropped a Soul Drop, he thought killing anyone would randomly drop Soul Drops. And so began his killing spree as soon as he reached the city.
