Alou Agneau
To try to force a butterfly from its cocoon is to kill it.
Alou was made to experience compassion and to exist as an antithesis to what Elisha is.
Like his mother, his interest lies in alchemy, plants, and insects. Healing is performed by extracting the essence of earthly comforts and applying them to the body. His fascination with bugs is less about objectification of life, and more about finding beauty in those condemned as ugly by society.
Alou can stomach gore as well as Elisha, however seeing gore or large amounts of blood can easily shock him out of his own mindset and back into Elisha's. If he allows himself to get too existential, he may turn back into Venn.

Personality
Alou seeks to sympathize with others, and is observant of their feelings and expressions. He has a good memory, which is applied to faces, names, as well as the bugs, plants, and substances of his trade.
He can be a little impulsive, but despite this he's not good at improvising, leaving him in awkward situations. He doesn't seek to dominate in conversation- discussion is not a fight, but a collaboration.
He's humble and sensitive, easily emotionally flustered, but quite stubborn when it comes to those he cares about. He has a tendency to value others above himself, and could easily fall into a situation of martyrdom. Unlike Elisha, who feels personally offended when ignored, Alou only feels anxiety and perhaps self-disappointment.
History
Alou remembers not the graveyard but the garden. Not the cold of the mortuary but the warmth of the kitchen. He remembers his mother teaching him about sacrifice, not as something you take but as something you accept in gratitude. His childhood is drying herbs and pinned butterflies.
As far as he pretends, his father was busy but absent, too focused on Elisha to interact with his second son, and his mother never forgot him. He left home to continue her trade far afield, to find new ingredients and concoctions, and to protect Elisha whom he thinks of more like an unfortunate brother than an alter-ego.
