Koios's Links
A former coworker of his, Nephele was one of the first - and the only - happy artificial inkdrians he'd ever seen. Even after having a debilitating disease all her life and knowing she'd never be a seedrian ever again, Nephele still keeps up a positive atmosphere whether it be in the lab or on her own. He's not sure if her career and the lab are completely over or if her status as a scientist is still standing, but he always makes sure to say hi to her whenever he meets her. (Usually that's during the rain.)
....He's surprised that 1793's still living. He thought that the kid didn't even have life when he'd gotten fired, but no, they seem perfectly happy and healthy every time they walk into his library. Koios is happy that 1793 - er, Aether? Is that their name now? - has someone to take care of them nowadays, but he doesn't like to see them. It stirs up feelings of guilt and sadness, so most of the time when they're in the library with their brother, he stays away.
...They recognize him, but they just... can't remember from where... Something dark and scary... Aether's fine being around him when they go to the library with Chan-Chan, but they really really don't like trying to remember where they know him from. It makes their tummy all sick and queasy...
Artinks make Koios -- uncomfortable. He feels a sense of guilt, even when he wasn't involved in Yukiko's creation at all. Yukiko is not happy, he knows, and even if she swears up and down that it's better this way, he just can't believe her. Things like this... they shouldn't have to hurt.
Koios creates fictional things, but he gives them life and body -- there is no reason to be ashamed. She can tell him over and over again, but he keeps hiding his eyes in his books. He does not believe her. Yukiko knows he should. If they can smile, then what does it matter if they're not real?
