The Lord

Known only as The Lord by his underlings, this man was a mystery, hiding in his castle by the northern coast of Spain.

He's always been a bit of a scoundrel, not having much respect for people who aren't himself. In life, he worked as a grave digger, but at night, he also went robbing some of these graves... until he found a vampire, just chilling there in the grave. This vampire wasn't very happy about his interruption, bit him immediately, and stuffed him in their grave as payback. He suffocated before the bite had faded, and turned as a result.

Post-turning, he got out of the grave rather easily. Soon he realized he had a lot of strength, cool new powers, as well as a thirst for blood. He didn't mind any of this.

And over his first century, he managed to manipulate his way into owning his very own castle. He got rich. Had some slaves, but they all died mortal deaths. Then he made vampire thralls instead. He somehow managed to brainwash them into thinking that leaving is simply Impossible, the world outside is Dangerous, I Provide Food, I Am Your Master, that basic kind of gaslighty cult shit. Just to keep them in the castle while he was napping, and not controlling their minds. He even erased their names and languages from their memory. Just another little thing to strip them of their personhood.... if anything, he's really the dangerous one here.

Oh yeah, he is definitely capable of doing some degree of mind control. But there's a catch: this only works with minds he's already erased at some point. He can only do this to mortals, as well as fresh vampires who are in the process of turning. He cannot erase the mind of an already turned vampire. He's the only one aware of this.

When he encountered Einarr, some... complications happened. He bit Einarr, yes, but he also got beheaded, himself. He was unable to do anything for a while. It wasn't enough to kill him, but a vampire's body still takes a little while to wake back up again and assemble itself back together after such a major injury. And within that time, Einarr had time to awaken as a vampire, after losing a lot of blood and "dying".

Due to this, he completely fails to control this new vampire kid. And that inevitably caused the rebellion of his former thralls, as well as his entrapment. Currently he is stuck in a chained-up stone coffin, at the bottom of the sea...
