urik is based on d&d lore, but not a character meant to be played.
urik is a well-meaning giant to most, though he chooses to be a menace to those he sees as morally corrupt. he wishes to help others and understands that the strength that comes with his size is his greatest advantage, thus he takes odd jobs where he can, protecting people from all sorts of monsters.

the "wtf" period
shortly after his coming of age, urik set out on his own. after numerous trials of survival, urik stumbled into a small, ransacked town. desperate for help, the citizens asked urik to do tasks to help rebuild. to his own confusion, urik was named mayor. he begrudgingly accepted, hoping to be able to leave once most buildings were fixed.
as a mayor, urik tried his best to be kind and just, especially considering that he saw many townspeople as friends. as mayor, urik met an elf named reid, with whom he had a brief close friendship. mayor urik later decided to leave his town, letting it grow and thrive.
the status of mayor never really fit urik, so he feels happy, if a little aimless, to be travelling once again. he likes to be guard for various people whenever possible, though he does not mind getting his hands dirty by dealing with monsters every once in a while.
he returns to the town of his birth often, to care for his family and do work for his church. this usually consists of eliminating threats to the city itself, including fiends and demons, and helping the poor. he oversees an after school program for young children. they think he's very cool because of his strength.
ex
though reid and urik did not have the deepest relationship, urik did care for the elf. as a result, when reid left without word, urik felt hurt. he became angry, but it eventually dulled down as years passed.
upon his meeting with a more mature reid, urik (with aearon's help) manages to make reid understand the pain he caused the orc. urik accepts the apologies, and due to his positive attitude, prefers to stay friends.
urik thinks reid's carelessness in interpersonal relationships is annoying, but is friendly regardless. he is happy reid apologised, even though it came a few years too late.
dating
urik met charon incidentally, when both of them were on a trip to the town that urik used to be mayor of. both of them were hired to deal with the sameunknown threat. urik was there in case the threat was fiendish in nature, and charon in case it was an undead causing trouble. they started dating following some unpleasant events in charon's life.
urik confides in charon about his struggles with reid, and deeply trusts charon. tries to act as charon's impulse control, and fails miserably. will never admit that he thinks charon is scarier than him and that he finds it funny.
acquaintance
urik and aearon are not close friends, but they are friendly. they bond over their relationships with reid, sometimes even teasing the wood elf. urik is greatful to aearon for his aid in communicating with reid.
urik finds aearon to be a pleasant conversation partner, though would not hang out with him for longer than a few minutes.
