Profile

Hermit background, oath of the ancients paladin.

Once a conniving thief, Codrak took on a heist too big and attempted to steal a powerful artifact from a magician. He was caught, and the furious magic user cursed him into minotaur form, and sent him off into the wilderness. Codrak wandered for a time, unsure of what to do with himself, before he eventually settled down in a small cabin in the woods to reflect on what his life had become.

There was no way to be a thief when he was so noticeable and large, but he didn't know what else to do with himself. After quite some time of reflection, a traveler appeared. He didn't seem scared of Codrak's monstrous form, and the two talked for a time. The visitor offered Codrak a chance - to redeem himself, to fight for those who were suffering and in need of help. Not seeing many other opportunities ahead, Codrak agreed.

The visitor gave Codrak a length of red string, a small bead tied on to it, and said, "Then go and aid my people."

"If they ask for your name, what should I tell them?" Codrak asked, curiously.

"My name is Ilmater. There's a church of mine, two days to the east. If you go there, you will find people to help you on your path," the man said, a warm glint in his eyes.

The man left after that, and Codrak set out on his new quest, confused by the knowledge that he had somehow just met a god.

Well, it was nice to know that at least someone believed in him. Perhaps someday he would be able to live up to this belief. And so began his quest to travel the world, and assist the world how he could.
