Thomas is known as the guy with a weird custard cream obsession who regularly sneaks stray animals into school. Notorious for acting before thinking, his carefree and rebellious tendencies never fail to land him in sticky situations. He isn't completely tactless, but he'd rather do things his own way.

One day, he found out that he was part of an ancient family who play the role of the harbingers of death. Thomas spontaneously awakened to deadly powers within him, and it suddenly made sense why certain individuals looked at him with wary eyes. Now he has to get used to the role and responsibilities that come with his new found powers as well as studying in preparation for university. As if he didn't already have enough on his plate...

Thomas is a relaxed and carefree kind of guy, choosing not to linger too long on the smaller details and going with the flow in most situations. He's easy to get along with and is friendly towards the people he meets. In his eyes, every stranger is a potential friend, as long as they're not a complete asshole.

Sometimes his thoughtlessness gets him into trouble, and it's usually the people around him who have to clean up after him. It wouldn't hurt if he thought more about the consequences of his actions, but Thomas is more the type to keep moving forwards than sit and do nothing at all.

Weapon manifest

Thomas can summon a scythe as an extension of his powers. His weapon is almost comically oversized but he can swing it with ease as though it weighs nothing.

Touch of death

Capable of causing instant death with just a touch, but it only affects small plants and animals, and sick or weak larger living beings. When used in conjunction with his weapon manifest, he is capable of killing a human.

GHOST VISION

The ability to see the spirits of the deceased who have not yet passed on. Thomas can freely communicate and interact with ghosts.

DEATH SENSE

Thomas can vaguely sense when a living thing is nearing the end of its life. He can also sense anything dead in the nearby area (ie. corpses).

Regeneration

Heals at a rate faster than the average human. Small cuts and grazes heal up after a few minutes, and major injuries usually clear up within a day. Injuries inflicted by Seikatsei take a much longer time to heal on their own.

Immortality

Cannot be killed unnaturally. He will only die through natural causes or if killed by another Shiinatos.

An average student who's often a little tardy and lazy with his work. Thomas thought he already had his hands full with trying to be the best student he could, when suddenly he found himself with the powers of a death reaper.

Despite having these dangerous powers to rein in, Thomas still remains kind at heart, even if he can see some of the others flinch or tense up at his presence. He's happy that his closest friends had chosen to look past familial stereotypes from the beginning and get to know him for who he was as his own individual.

Other descendants often see him as rather naive by as he shows disregard for familial issues and asks questions with apparently obvious answers. Thomas can't help that after being kept in the dark for so long and he dislikes being so quickly dismissed by the others at times. He does his best to get along with the others though, believing that disliking people because of an age old feud between their ancestors is just silly.

History

Thomas grew up unaware of his lineage and the twelve families. This was largely due to the lack of parental figures in his life - his mother died soon after giving birth to him and his father vanished from his life when Thomas was two years old. As a result, it’s been just him and his sister, Hannah, for most of his life.

When he and his sister were still young they lived with their grandfather. Thomas had a content life, his early years were spent in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. Hannah was the one who made the decision to never tell Thomas about the existence of the twelve families. With little contact with other family members, it wasn’t hard for him to stay clueless about his lineage.

Life got more hectic when Thomas got older and started attending secondary school. His sister was working hard to support the two of them and so Thomas wanted to do his best in school and not cause her more trouble than she needed. Unfortunately, he met Jacob Seikatsei. It didn’t take long for Thomas to draw the ire of the Seikatsei and sure enough his school life became something painful. Thomas drew the attention, good and bad, of the other descendants in the school, remaining all the while unaware of their familial situations.

It was only at the start of Year 12 after an unfortunate series of events when he forcibly awakened his own powers. He finally learned about the situation surrounding the families and had to quickly learn to adapt and adjust the way he acted around his fellow descendants.
