known as the ghost captain, Irisha is the captain of her ship The Courier of Souls. She sails the sea looking for those who were lost out there and helping them cross over. She spends most of her days on the seas, tending to the souls on her ship. She is a dedicated spirit walker, and an accomplished warrior. She'll defend every aspect of her crew - and her charge - to the death. She's stoic and a bit rough, but it's mostly a front.

Irisha grew up in a temple, surrounded by the souls of the dead. From a young age, she showed great prowess for the job of spirit worker. This blossomed into a disciplined, dedicated craft which she can do quite a bit of strong magic with. However, the path she's on was not the one planned for her. The last time Irisha saw her father, he was discussion Irisha's future with the temple tenders - the reason they were so harsh and disciplined with her wasn't just her talent - they wanted her to become the Voice of Vesperum.
Irisha knew that couldn't be - the voice of Vesperum must be chosen by the deity, not some little vespiri. This wasn't right!

That was when the first change came.

When she found out later that her father died, she began to plot an escape. Accompanied by her childhood friend Asce, though reluctant, she ran from that place, never to look back.
After some time, she wandered to the ocean - a place which called her more than any other. A place that scared Asce more than any other.
She knew she had to go out there - she could feel her destiny calling. That was when the second change came.

Soon, Irisha got a job aboard a ship - then another. Soon she owned her own vessel. She had to leave Asce behind - a decision she feels terrible about. But between his clever methods of communication and her own stubborn refusal to be left out, she has opened back up communication with him. Aboard her ship she feels free - far from the crushing weight of her planned destiny. She can perform her duties on her own terms - she can bring peace to spirits and their families, keeping track of each soul and bringing news to any ports she can. Her ship functions as a floating temple, a passenger ship, and sometimes a trading vessel - but for her, it represents freedom.

Random extra bit: Irisha sees each crewmember as a close friend. She tries to show it by caring for their wellbeing, taking just as much care with them as she does with spirits. She is prone to teasing most of them, but will not tolerate anyone else doing so, very much in the way older siblings do. She shares very little to them, even so, and spends much of her time working with the other side, practicing rituals, and speaking with spirits.

Fun facts: one of the original 3 vespiri to be adopted out in the old game! She was also completely broken after a small EXP issue that snowballed into her being bale to take on 3 of the strongest enemy ingame by herself... and also the three swords, or sometimes trident, may have helped. She's a badass and she knows it!

Irisha is incredibly difficult to get information out of. Her goal is noble, her cause is true, but she seldom shares why. It is a long story, full of fear. But she stans tall now, and she will stay that way.

Meeting the Crew


The first crew of the courier were hired, as many still are. But in particular, Consus and Gauge, who were already married, were hired onto the ship. Later on, they became close, and to this day Irisha considers them to be old friends. Argo wasn't hired by the usual process, but rather entered the crew naturally. They helped in a pinch and Irisha learned they needed a job, so she hired them. Argo is now first mate and can perform all but the spiritual side of Irisha's duties. Killian was met in the forest while Irisha was passing through a land area to get something she needed. She feels a sisterly attatchment to the kid, and has mentored him on anything she can help with that he wants to know.

Killian

[ Close Friend/Crewmate ] Irisha met Killian in the dark forest. He was lost and alone, being attacked by a dreadwood tree. If she hadn't stepped in, he probably would have died. Irisha did it out of kindness - but she didn't expect the kid to follow her home. He was a runaway too - and although he didn't look it, her same age. He reminded her of herself. She hasn't asked - nor will she - where he comes from, but she knows it's just as scary as her own origins. She knows he's not really a kid, even if he acts like one - and certainly looks it. But she likes looking out for him, and he likes looking out for her.

Argo(KoE)

[ Friend ] Argo is a very close friend. Irisha finds their presence calming and often seeks them out when she feels alone but doesn't want to be overwhelmed. The pair has a comfortable friendship that is incredibly difficult to read form the outside, especially since they spend a lot of wordless time together, but seem to know all about each other.

[ Friend/crewmate ] Wip. Gauge was hired, though! and the pair enjoy sparring matches, where Gauge tutors Irisha on her technique from time to time. Fight spectacularly as a duo.

Asce

[ Childhood friend/"Brother" ] The pair escaped together, they harass one another, they love one another - they've been through thick and thin, but Asce couldn't follow her over seas. Instead, they do the same job on two fronts - Asce finding the hard-to-reach land enivi, and Irisha at sea. More in the story tabs, soon.
