| Short description Variel's father, former leader of the Ausurius organisation. Appears only in the very first part of sequel. Strict, cold, demanding, but also oversensitive and mentally broken. After he loses his beloved wife, his father and his friend in the same time, he changes definitely in not a good way and can't deal with the role of a leader well. Right man on a wrong place. |
| Personality Vincent is a very cold, reserved and harsh person, but he wasn't always like that. He changed a lot after his wife died - just after she gave birth to their son. Moreover, he lost a lot of close persons in this time (his only friend, his father), and also got in a serious quarrel with his brother. These events had huge impact on him and he changed a lot, not in a good way. He's really wealthy, takes the role of a leader and has a super talented child, but he's a very unhappy person. He seems to be very proud, demanding and supercilious, but actually he doesn't deal with his role so well. He's completely broken inside and he actually hates his job. He's aware that it's too hard to him and he doesn't feel like he should be a leader, but at the same time he doesn't want to give up. His wish is to let Variel take over the whole Ausurius organisation and make him a new boss. Vincent has a tendency to neglect a lot of matters and he's not as fair as he supposed to be, he's willing to defend the halcylian people even if they commit a serious crime. He's also very dependent on his counselor, Endei, he trusts him and lets him make important decisions instead of making them himself. He's constantly manipulated by Endei and even when he realises that, he isn't courageous enough to stand up to him. Vincent as a leader makes a lot of serious fails, and in the end he really regrets everything. It's very easy to make him very nervous or terrified, he often becomes hysterical and acts somewhat weird; he probably has obsessive compulsive disorder and is heavily depressed. Vincent dies in 1914, he gets shot by his most trusted counselor Endei, who turns out to be a traitor, as a revenge for breaking some very important halcylians' rules on the Halmaime Island. |
| Relations Variel - his son; he's very demanding towards him and wants him to become the next boss of Ausurius. He treats him very harshly and doesn't care so much about his personal feelings, but in fact he loves him the most in the world. He's very careful about him and always wants the best for him, but he doesn't try to understand him and he really can't stand his childish behaviours. For Vincent it'd be the best if Variel never had a childhood at all. He always forced him to learn a lot and never let him play with other children, but he never neglected him. Vincent was raising him alone, but he had a lot of staff who was mainly taking care of him when he was a child, so Variel didn't have many opportunities to spend longer time with his father. He had always hoped that Variel will take over the role of a leader as soon as possible (basically he planned his whole future when Variel was like 3, he was obsessed by this somehow). His wish was to make Variel the leader of Ausurius just after he turns 21, because he didn't feel good with these responsibilities himself and believed his son is way stronger and more intelligent than him; unfortunately he died when Variel was 14 and he had to become the leader at much younger age. For the last months of his life he was really trying to change himself and treat Variel better than before, as he realised that he wasn't a good parent for him. Arielle - his wife; although she's not present in the story, it's known that he loved her very much and he enjoyed her cheerful personality. Variel reminds her a lot. Vincent became depressed after she died and never recovered from it. Gilbert - his father, the previous (first) leader of Ausurius. Gilbert always loved Vincent more than his older son Lucien and they had rather positive relations, even though they had completely different personalities. Adult Vincent is afraid that he'll never be as good as his father in the past and often feels ashamed by his own fails when he thinks about his father's achievements. He knows that he can't compare himself with such a mighty and brave person like his father. Lucien - his older brother; they hate each other since their youngest years and there are a bunch of (more and less serious) reasons for it. They have a huge conflict and Vincent tries to avoid Lucien as much as possible. He also doesn't let him get involved in Ausurius' matters and never share his wealth with him. Endei - his most trusted counselor, a halcylian from Halmaime who works in Ausurius since long time. Vincent always believes that Endei is right and more clever than him, so he lets him make many important decisions, which actually aren't that good for the society. Endei manipulates Vincent all the time, but he doesn't see anything wrong with it. Even when he finally opens his eyes and realises that Endei acts very suspicious, he still isn't brave enough to fire him. He wants to have someone who he can trust to...but Endei isn't an example of trustable person at all. After Vincent dies, Endei turns out to be a traitor, as he's also the leader of Zevelia sect. |
| Some other fun facts - After his father died, he inherited all his wealth, Lucien got literally nothing. Also Gilbert was the person who chose him to become the next leader of Ausurius, which wasn't a good choice at all. - Vincent's family has halmaimean roots - his great-great grandpa was born on Halmaime, so yes, Variel has some halmaimean inheritage as well - He has a pet snake named George. He's actually afraid of him and screams like a lady when George needs to be fed. He can not feed him himself, he needs to ask his staff for help. He asks for help with everything. - He's a vegan, very unhealthy one, and secretly wants Variel to go vege too because he thinks he's too chubby - He finished an university, but often acts like he's seriously dumb, or just too lazy to think - He can obsessively brush his hair for 3 hours and spends more time in a bathroom than in Ausurius' headquaters - He's the biggest crybaby of all the times, he's defined by the word lame |
