BACKSTORY:

Marissa is a young angel who grew up in Nova - a floating sky city, invisible to humans, that sits above Earth. Sometimes, angels are sent down to Earth to protect randomly-chosen humans. There are two other angel cities that dropped the tradition centuries ago, leaving not enough angels to protect every human.

One day, Marissa was chosen to be a Guardian Angel for a young human girl named Flora. She takes her job very seriously and has been following Flora ever since, doing her best to keep her safe.

PERSONALITY:

Negative: Scatterbrained / Judgemental / Worrier

Marissa is young by her race's standards, but is considered mature beyond her years. Caring and motherly, she feels most fulfilled when helping others. She might not always be the best at giving advice, but she's usually good at providing comfort and moral support. She suffers under stress and has a hard time meeting deadlines - they tend to make her panic.

When faced with people or concepts that she disagrees with, she isn't above voicing her opinions openly. Though she tries to accept everyone, she has a clear judgemental streak and can be very stubborn. She can also be pushy, sometimes unintentionally forcing her opinions on others. Her narrow-mindedness is perhaps her worst flaw, but when made aware of it, she does try to better herself, even if it takes time.

DESIGN:

Marissa has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She normally wears a flowing white dress and blue slip-on shoes. She has white feathered wings that grow out of her back; though they look small, she's perfectly capable of flight.

Marissa has a golden halo that floats above her head. She can make both her halo and her wings disappear at will.

ABILITIES:

Marissa can size-shift. She can switch between her true form - a human-sized figure - to her 'imp form', which is a six-inch-tall version of herself. In Nova, she's usually in her true form. On Earth, she'll be forced into her imp form unless she makes a conscious effort to shift back.

Marissa can use basic healing magic. She also has a power called Dove Influence, which makes people around her feel calmer. She might use it to cool down arguments or soothe someone who's stressed. However, it doesn't always work.

She is invisible to most humans, though some other animals can see her.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Flora

Marissa is Flora's Guardian Angel, assigned by the angel community to watch over her for life. Marissa initially views protecting Flora as just a job (albeit one she takes very seriously), but quickly grows to care deeply for the girl.

Lazarus

A young devil with a crush on Marissa. She doesn't return his feelings - in fact, she remains oblivious to them for quite some time. She openly dislikes Lazarus, considering him crude and ill-mannered, as well as a bad influence on Flora.

TRIVIA:

- Thinks caterpillars and worms are adorable.

- Her relationship with Flora eventually prompts her to start thinking about having children of her own. However, she never does.
