(A small clarification: Kelly shows up in the story a year after the story begins. This means she arrives in Fairweather High when Mel and Arin are in 10th grade)
Just another new student in Fairweather High arriving from 9th to 10th grade, right? Well, it seems like Kelly is a familiar face... at least to Mel. Kelly and Mel used to be best friends in elementary until an... incident happened. They were then forced to split paths and Kelly transferred to a unique type of school. A kind that, well, deals with adolescent criminals.
Kelly's parents were kind and caring... for the most part. Her sister was protective of her until she left the city to go to a prestigious university. This should have been the perfect environment for a little girl to grow up in. Yet, Kelly was not satisfied. She wanted something different. She only wanted to care for no one but herself.
Well, until Mel Gant happened; her only friend in elementary. Kelly visited her house often, having many sleepovers. Mel wanted to see her house too and one fatal night, Kelly let her stay over. The rest is... history.

Mel
[ frienemy ] Kelly and Mel go back; way back. They used to be friends until the incident, until she had to leave the school. Mel never got charged for the crime THEY had committed... and it was about time she had to pay for her betrayal. Kelly's sole goal is to make Mel's life miserable. "She needs to feel the pain of loneliness."
Arin
[ useful ] Arin is Mel's new best friend. Therefore, he is a very useful asset to Kelly's plan. While she doesn't interact with him too much in the beginning, he plays a key role in her later plans. He is about to experience much pain-- Fun times.
Danger
[ nuisance ] The first flirt attempt is something to be expected; she is beautiful after all. The second feels... off, especially after such a clear rejection. The problem with Danger is that he never stops... romantically pursuing Kelly. He is a very persistent obstacle to her plans as he almost never leaves her alone. However... he could be useful...
