| Shizuki Kishi [Cousin] Mackenzie and Shizuki had always been close. Their sides of the family regularly met for all manner of small things from just having dinner together to the occasional holiday. However, following what happened to her cousin, Asami, and seeing how deeply affected by that loss Shizuki was Mackenzie did everything in her power to try and help take care of her younger cousin becoming an older sister figure in Asami's place. Two two were as close as all get-up, sharing things that no one else in the family knew about, such as the fact that Mackenzie was the first person that both Shizuki came out to and the only person in their family who knows that she and Vardah ended up dating. However, Shizuki also stepped up to assist Mackenzie, being the first person to learn ASL in order for them to communicate after speaking became nearly impossible for Mackenzie as well as helping Mackenzie through the rather nasty depression that followed the accident in which Mackenzie was the only one to walk away from. The two are still close to this day, often serving as a person to vent to when either have something going on in their lives that's driving them nuts. | |
| Asami Kishi [Cousin] Mackenzie always liked Asami. Growing up she saw Asami as that stereotypical cool cousin. The cousin who had all the newest things and wanted to share it. The one who was friends with everyone. It was for this reasons that it hit hard when Mackenzie was told that she might never see Asami again, and even worse when told she probably wouldn't. She didn't know the reasons why until Shizuki told her a few years on and since then Mackenzie's feelings towards her cousins' parents never improved. She viewed them as monsters although she never said this aloud seeing that Shizuki still needed someone. Mackenzie doesn't know if Asami is still alive but she isn't exactly holding out hope after all these years. |
