Curse: every drop of his iridescent blood crystallizes into beautiful gems when it touches the air. This makes it a burden, as it will become heavy and uncomfortable on his scales. Occasionally, gems will grow on their own, forcing themselves upward and crystallizing on top of each other, hence the spiky formations he has. It also means that many treasure-seekers and greedy people will hunt him down to try and 'harvest' his blood gems. Legend has it that the blood/gems smell deliciously sweet and fragrant. It is unknown whether his halo, which turns jagged and spiky when he is upset, is a part of the curse or was there before. It is the color of his blood...
