Mads is a sixteen year old classmate of April O'Neil and Casey Jones.
Is a go with the flow type of person, really chill and typically just kinda blends in to the background. There is nothing really special about her, very ordinary.
Lives with her single mother who she does not like very much and constantly gets into fights with. She never really comes home, and her mother doesn't really care. Had a father who is deceased now, who used to work as a mechanic and had a shop (in which she would stay most of the time and learn about cars as well). They were very close and she doesn't talk about it too often.
It is an ongoing gag about her not being special or unique, that's just her trope. She hates it. She has really low self esteem and does not believe in herself, which is exacerbated when others joke about how she cannot do things, She is often the butt of the joke and makes a lot of self deprecating comments about herself which gets kind of concerning sometimes.
story
Became friends with April first, meeting eachother at night in the lonely little park she always hangs out at, and swapped numbers. Hung out for a while, long enough for her to realize April was hiding something, and goes on to meet the turtles in The Alien Agenda. April is just happy to have another girl to relate to (esp with the whole mutant thing too) and they become very good pals.
She instantly connects with Leo from their shared love of space heroes, and geek out about it constantly, her bring her dad's old vhs's to the lair as a gift makin Leo blow a gasket. She constantly makes shifty excuses as to why she amways stays at the lair or at April's house for days at a time, Leo got suspicious and found out the hard way that her mother is an abusive pos by showing up to her house unannounced. When splinter gave April her weapon, he'd thought it'd only be fair to also give mads one, so he gave her a wooden katana because he does not believe she wouldn't hurt herself with a real one (Lol he don't believe in her).
In Parasitica, she was at the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up being bitten by bug ass Leo, shaking her up a whole lot and giving her PTSD, flinching when he tries to get near her, upsetting them both though he knows she can't help it and she is guilty because she doesn't want him to feel like a monster. Leo took it upon himself to fix it and they began hanging out a lot alone, him beginning to give her sword fighting lessons to bond with her.
They began feeling things for each other, which they ended up acting on (when they are alone only, his dumb ass doesn't wanna do pda and stops her when she tries mostly LOL), him telling her to keep it a secret because he didn't want his brothers to give him a hard time if they find out (cuz it's like...lmao...mads...rlly bro), and her going along with it because it was her first time in this situation, and her self esteem is compared to that of a grain of rice.
Fast forward when Casey comes in, she and him bond over being the "normal" ones, even though he could do way more than her. Their bond got stronger when they related about having abusive parents, and it turned into that of a brother and sister dynamic.
She gets very good at sword fighting, but due to her low self esteem (and some internal conflict about Splinter not trusting her and giving her the wooden one), she does not show the full potential Leo knows she has, and is mortified to use a real sword. She slowly grows accustom to it though, and weilds Leo's second katana during fights sometimes, they work as a pretty nice team. When the New York invasion happened, she was extremely shaken up about Leo's near passing (she got some real issues after her dad died) and along with Raph didn't leave his side till he woke up.

MUTATED MADS
Mutated in season 3, somewhere in between episodes 11 and 18.
She was mutated in a fight where she pushed Casey out of the way and got clocked with a mutagen canister.
When she was fully transformed she ran as fast as her lil lizard legs could take her while they were busy with the fight, going into hiding much to their horror, Casey especially taking it hard, and Leo bc this is the second woman he was into who turned into a mutant an ran tf away lol.
Her personality changes to pretty chaotic and agressive (but she doesn't turn evil she just likes to fuck around and find out), but when they finally find her, she proceeds to beat the shit outta the turtles n Casey. This is where she tauntingly aired out their dirty laundry in front of his brothers by putting him on the spot, asking him why he was so ashamed of what they have and to tell everyone they were "together", and why does he not respect her enough to be straight with his family about it, among some other colorful choice words leaving his bros stunned...
It turned into a big shit show and Casey and April were especially angry at Leo about it. Leonardo Hamato was humbled that day. He ain't gonna live this one down.
She has a brief stint with the Mutanimals when they unknowingly took her in, not knowing it was her, where she fashioned up a story about how she was in hiding from someone. They hid her for a hot sec before Slash realized it was her (and remembers her fondly from when she'd interact with him as a regular turtle), informing the turtles of her whereabouts.
oh yea and and Mondo is like... hey baby... ur a lizard... im a lizard... whats happening here... :J
She ultimatley agreed to get de-mutated after a round two fight with her friends, them apologizing for being lil shits and treating her badly.
