Honestly, I'm just in it for the free food.
Born and raised in the beautiful region of Hoenn, though beauty is not the word she'd use when thinking about her beginnings. Red has a pretty apathetic take on many things, that got better when she came to Alola.

Her sense of humor is dry and sarcastic, and she delivers ironic jokes stone faced. You would think she'd enjoy silently taking things at her own pace and travelling alone, but she is overjoyed and thrilled to have people to be with on her journeys.
Does her best to be the mom friend (tm), but it backfires frequently when people end up doing it more for her than she does for them due to her lack of life experience. In fact, her inexperience hinders her greatly, her having to learn as she goes along with her new found freedom and life.
Social cues are the big thing she lacks, and she hates herself for not getting them, often frustrated and self imposing over something out of her control. She loses control of her emotions at times, and (VERY RARELY) acts upon them with violence if someone does some clown ass shit (i.e, the lil bitch who abused and abandoned her Dratini, mf had it coming).
She also got mommy issues. Bad ones. It took her a while to come out of her shell and get used to her new life, but with the help of her professor and her rival/pals, she shaped up.
Alola, the island challenge, the whole shebang, advertised by Professor Kukui. She'd known Alola exists, of course, but joining the island challenge sounded impossible for someone of her age.
Still, she emailed him and he returned it a few days later, moved by the long long jumbled mess she'd sent him. He was compelled, and the message ran in his mind daily, he couldn't let this just keep happening. From that point on Professor Kukui vowed to make sure this stranger lived her life to the fullest.
