BACKSTORY:

Janet was once married to Armin, who she met as a teenager when her family took a vacation to his village. They were pen-pals for several years before eventually becoming a couple and moving into the big city together.

They had two children and enjoyed a loving relationship for 15 years. Sadly, one day Armin went missing, leaving Janet to spend the rest of her life wondering what had happened to him.

Janet is a wildly creative person - a free spirit who spends most of her time making things. However, she is also indecisive and loses interest quickly, causing her to rarely stick with one hobby for long. Throughout her life, she dabbled in nearly every hobby imaginable - painting, writing, sculpting, crochet, cooking, music, and many others.

With her attention constantly flitting from one thing to another, Janet can appear unfocused, distracted and finicky. She gets extremely frustrated when things don't go the way she wants, and usually expects more of herself than she can realistically achieve. A perfectionist, she has a love-hate relationship with both herself and her hobbies. She is stubborn, in both a good way and a bad way.

She is family-orientated, and hurting her family is one of the quickest ways to provoke her. She draws strength from her loved ones. Her husband, Armin, is her wall - he supports her interests, helps her relax, and stops her from criticising herself too much. Janet is loyal and empathetic, but her open displays of affection come sparingly, making them all the more meaningful.

DESIGN:

Janet is on the shorter side, with a slim build, green eyes, and light-brown hair that's usually braided back. She has freckles on her face and arms. Her hair starts turning grey relatively young (mid-30's).

She wears an old raincoat to protect her clothes when doing messy hobbies such as painting. She wears a necklace made out of an old paintbrush. On her left forearm is a stylised tattoo of a cat.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Armin

Janet's husband, who mysteriously disappeared. She loved him dearly and faithfully, though got impatient with him at times. His disappearance shook her deeply and she never got over it, spending the rest of her life wondering where he went.

Frederick

Janet's son. After Armin disappeared, Frederick took up the role of caring for Janet and providing moral support. He was there for her during the worst time of her life, and helped her find reasons to keep living. They had a close bond right up until Janet's death.

TRIVIA:

- Jack of all trades, master of none. She's picked up many skills from her variety of interests, but never stuck with anything long enough to master it.

- Painting and gardening are her favourite hobbies. (She's still not very good at them though.)

- Loves cats, but can't have one due to being allergic, so she got a tattoo of one instead.
