APPEARANCE

He's 5'7, has bleach orange-blonde natural hair, and is admittedly extremely weak muscle-wise. As a side effect of his possession he also has trouble eating meats and other animal products, as they are "impure". This causes him to be relatively skinny, although he tries not to show it by layering his clothes. He dresses in expensive designer clothes that are made to look old, vintage, or ratty, and never skips accessorizing with his sceptum piercing and random bracelets, Oh, and of course! His sun-eye necklace. He purchased his necklace from a garage store and has no idea that it's the symbol of the nearby cult until he meets Caspar and Connor.

PERSONALITY

Azzy is egotistical due to his superiority complex developed after years of endless forgiveness for his terrible rebelious teen actions. It mostly started as a result of his parents thinking he was "blessed by god himself" at birth.... What really happened is a lot less cool, and way scarier than god blessing a child, as he'd absorbed a semi-sentient entity completely made out of positive energy, making him extrmemly lucky and almost powerful for his entire lifespan (or for as long as it takes for the entity to take over his entire body). While this possession seems all fun and games compared to, say, Connor's, no possession is a walk in the park.

Usually negative energy possessions are seen as more dangerous and/or more destructive when in reality both Pos + Neg energy possessions hold the same weight. What it does to it's host is really up to how strong of an entity it is/was and how strong the host is/was. In Connor's case it was way stronger than his puny mortal body- but in Azzy's case it's pretty much balanced.. That's not to say he has no negative side affects though! All possession makes changes to eating and sleeping qualifications, and sometimes even cause physical changes called out by intense use of the abilites given to the host by the energy. (For example: Azrael's wings, or Connor's black matter tentacles). He keeps these things mostly to himself, but when mentioned they garner a choked response. In reality, he's extremely weak-minded prior to the story. He is constantly spiraling out of control due to his enabler parents and lack of friends + self awareness.

HISTORY

When he was born, Azrael was like any other newborn. Screaming, red, covered in blood, yknow- the works. Usually this would attract the attention of negative energy, but the sheer amount of joy in the delivery room expressed by family, staff, and others attracted the opposite. As a ball of positive energy was created, it tried to find a suitable host to take over. What this semi-sentient ball of energy did NOT know, though, was that the baby it assumed as it's host was not going to be easily taken over. Despite being invisible to human vision, the parents could almost feel the energy, thus cheering that their baby boy was "blessed by god" and in turn named him Azrael, calling him their "little angel". (Due to the fact he went to public school for a lot of his life, he wasn't really aware of the implications of his name. It only hit him after Caspar had brought it up years later when they'd met.).

In the years following, poor Azzy developed a knack for giving out minor favors (promising luck) to classmates, and eventually developed a sort of superiority complex. Because of his insane luck he was able to pass tests by guessing 87% of the time.. and yet, he felt extremely unfifilled by something that came so easily to him. That's why he eventually took up using his abilities to bet on sports games, horse races, ect, and use the money for drugs (Weed mostly, though he'd probably lie about that to impress you) to make things more interesting for himself. It never really came to bite him back in the ass until he met Caspar, though.

On a day like any other, Azzy was doing his usual walk through down town looking for easy targets to make fun of, when he decided on a whim to trip some kid an inch shorter than him (Caspar) in an alleyway. Caspar was walking home from his afternoon shift at the nearby grocery store at the time. Azrael proposed at the moment, that he was god or whatever, and for once someone did not believe him. Caspar decked him (sucker punched him) in the face, and somehow that flipped a switch in his tiny overwired brain that made him wanna give up the act. It'd been real tough going through everything alone, and all his egotistical tendencies just pushed people further away. After the altercation, Azrael took a really long look into his soul and decided if he saw this guy again he was gonna make it up to him somehow... even if that meant getting fuckin DECKED... AGAIN... by a 5'6 blonde boy trainwreck.

RELATIONSHIPS

Caspar

Azrael views Caspar as a sort of mentor for "becoming good" in a way... Which doesn't help with him being obnoxious already. They first met around the time Caspar started getting close with Kieran which aided in the fact they even became friends at all... considering how they first met.

Connor

Honestly Azzy learns about Connor thru Caspar and that was around the time when he realized he was talking to the two escapees of the infamous Penrith City Cult case that he'd done a deep dive on as a junior in high school. Once he heard about the fact they were dealing with possession too (Albeit of an opposite kind) he really shut up and decided he wanted to help. Not really 100% for Connor and Kieran... but a lot less for himself than most things he'd ever done. Azrael and Connon never really become friends after the story's plot, but it's good to note that they do get along and have a decent amount in common.

Kieran

Kie was the person who was definitely the hardest on Azrael through the plot of the story. He'd make an effort to constantly oppose egotistical comments and/or substitute Azzy's thoughts for others that were helpful to helping them. While Caspar and Kie viewed him as a plot device in the beginning, they slowly learn to actually appreciate him, and help him realize he wants his possession reversed too. It took Azrael a long time to realize he shouldn't be suffering so much mentally and physically for a measly luck boost.. even if he was gonna miss the drug money
