When it comes to spellcasting, it's merely business. It's been like that for... well, forever. At least for Sammy anyway, whose used to seeing spells getting privately exchanged, alongside people smuggling magical items in. It's a field he incredibly knowledgable in, and his knowledge often extends to other things as well. Of course, Sammy seems to dedicate the majority of time to his studies, which can often lead to him being stressed and irritatable. His main outlets? Well, he says there's only one - the adventurer guild's "special request team", lead by "Miss Hazel".
Miss Hazel insists that Sammy is profesional at all times, and that's what he does. Of course, Miss Hazel also insists that Sammy has to be kept safe at all times... it took some arguing, but she begrudningly agreed to let him lead the "special request" team. A position which he takes very seriously and is incredibly devoted to. Heck, he's willing to put himself on the frontline just to ensure the job is done. And typically.... that's what happens.
- Sammy has a familar which takes the form of a Rat! He calls it Moz and Moz often carries spells to attack others with. However, some people have noticed that Moz seems rather... angry with Sammy. Nobody knows for certain, but sometimes people swear it looks as if he's arguing with him over something.
- Sammy often refers to a woman called "Miss Hazel". Sammy refuses to comments on her any further other than name. However, some people noticed that whenever he speaks on her he always seems... off. Almost frightened of merely mentioning her name.
- Sammy most takes an aggressive stance on the battlefield, often hitting his foes with powerful electric-based magic. One thing to note is his weapon of choice. It's a quarterstaff that is hollow in the middle, and he attaches a small, almost mechanical device to the staff, which seems to give it the appearance of a gun. From there? He fires spells outta it.
- Sammy is very insistent when it comes to plans, and this even influences in his divinations. He typically tends to use playing cards to look into the future, and is almost reliant on their readings.
- When Sammy calls you "pal", he is probably threatening you.
"The Jack of Diamonds... I swear anytime I pull that card it always involves him one way or another. Likely because he is one of the most dishonest people I've met... yet, I can't help but trust him. Ugh, don't ask me why! He knows how to scam a person or two, but he's mostly just talk!! Impressive talk, sure, but he wouldn't dare try anything against me... I guess I find comfort in that..."
"Might I ask what her problem is? She's always... uh, staring at me? Well, she stares all the time, I imagine it's that whole doll thing. But like, it's almost as if she... likes me? Uh, sure, we'll call it that for convience sake. Either way, I aint interested. Miss Hazel requested we work together, and that's all we'll ever be. Even then, I couldn't care for that kind of thing anyway..."
"Savour's a smart lad, it's kinda worrying he looks down on himself so much. Y'see, Hazel wouldn't want me to work with him if he wasn't considered tough enough... I mean, that's how she describes it anyway. Point is, he's talented, probably the best of the others. I mean, considering the competition is the jackass of diamonds and doll girl... He's a pal, that's for sure."
"Well, Miss Hazel says she pays her dues, and that's good enough for me. Well, she doesn't seem to get along with Nikonor and I personally don't blame her. He truly is the worst. But Miss Bafflestone? Yeah, she's alright, and as along as she pays, she'll have Miss Hazel's protection. That's merely the business."
