Eagle-Eye Tempest

  • FULL NAME: Tatiana Zvonkova
  • AGE: 34
  • PRONOUNS: she/her
  • REGION: Snezhnaya
  • OCCUPATION: Bodyguard / Merc for Hire
  • VISION: Anemo
  • CONSTELLATION: Aquila (Eagle)
  • WEAPON: Claymores (more specifically her giant battle axe, affectionately named "Peacekeeper")
  • CURRENT EMPLOYER: Moonlighter Dance Troupe

PERSONALITY

Tatiana is intimidating at first glance. Tall and broad, she looms imposingly over most people she meets, gaze sharp and appraising. She is extremely patient and observant, and prefers to keep quiet unless it's necessary to speak. She values straightforwardness, and despite being terrible at telling lies herself, she is scarily good at spotting them. People she decides to keep a sharper eye on often walk away feeling like she could see right through them, though unless something is a danger to her employer, she usually resolves to keep it to herself. Off the clock, however, she is quite gentle and protective of people who have earned her care and respect. Much to others' surprise, she's more fun than her stoic demeanor would lead you to believe - she has a love of music and has collected a wide repertoir of folk songs that she often sings to herself when she think's nobody can hear it. When she can be convinced to let her guard down and let loose, she lets loose hard. (Many a challenger have been drunk under the table by her, though she doesn't tend to admit it). In combat, it's no different. Her enemies better hope they never end up on the sharpened side of her axe, for nobody returns from a path that runs against the northern wind.

INFO

Tatiana is an experienced mercenary, travelling with whichever merchant or travelling troupe decides to hire her for protection. She grew up living out in the middle of nowhere in the snowy mountains of Snezhnaya, which taught her great survival skills, and more importantly, patience and sharp observation. Nothing escapes her watchful eye. She has never been partial to Snezhnaya's more populated areas, preferring to keep to the vast wilderness. Though she doesn't mind being around city hustle and bustle, she has little respect for convoluted politics and two-faced people. Tatiana is currently in the employ of the Moonlighters, a travelling troupe of performers who needed some extra protection for their tour across Teyvat. It's an unusual job for her, but it's turning out to be more enjoyable than she thought. Some of the members seem to be keeping secrets, though...

TALENTS

BUILD: DPS/Tank

NORMAL/CHARGED ATTACK: Cutting Winds
Normal: A wide sweep of the axe. Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes. Knocks opponents off their feet at the end of a combo.
Charged: Drains stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks. At the end of the sequence, perform a move powerful slash.

ELEMENTAL SKILL: Silent Squall
Tatiana slices her axe through the air, creating a whistling gust that pulls nearby enemies closer, and then smashes into the ground for increased Anemo DMG in a small AoE, knocking enemies away again. If held, the gust that pulls enemies in will affect a larger area.

ELEMENTAL BURST: Eye of the Storm
Tatiana drives Peacekeeper into the ground at her feet, kicking up a cyclone of wind that forms with her at the center. The Storm launches and holds enemies in the air and forms a wall around Tatiana at the same time, dealing Anemo DMG over the course of several seconds. While in the Eye of the Storm, Tatiana and her party recieve quicker energy recharge. If the Storm comes in contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal 50% additional elemental DMG of that type. This may only occur once per use.

NOTES

I'm not somebody who pays much attention to builds, so I can't guarantee these are balanced or unique. I'm just having a fun time making things up.

LIKES

  • Fresh mountain air
  • Straightforward people
  • Singing to herself when she thinks nobody's around to hear
  • Peace and quiet
  • Musical performances

DISLIKES

  • Two-faced people
  • Pointless rules and disputes
  • Badly-maintained weaponry

  • Squirrels ("Won't keep their godless little hands off my supplies, the bastards.")

HOBBIES

  • Collecting folk songs from all over
  • Learning about plants and animals
  • Weapon maintenance
  • Sewing and embroidery
  • Reading anything she can get her hands on

TRIVIA

  • I first designed her because I wish Snezhnayan characters had more slavic design influence :(
  • "Zvonkova" is derived from a Russian adjective used to describe a ringing sound.
  • She could probably pick up the rest of her party members all at once, no matter what the party comp is.
  • She got her big face scar from a fight with a bear.

Me? I'm just the hired help, you'll want to look down the hall for-- Oh, you're asking about me, are you. Tatiana, professional bodyguard. I'm here to keep an eye out for anyone who might hassle the performers. Better not try anything - these arms aren't just for show.

The Northern Wind, hm. Didn’t know I had a reputation this far out. Promise I'm not so scary as all that. Most of the time.

Ah, my oldest friend. And the most reliable one, at that. Let's just hope the peace will keep itself without her, hm?

Reading people? Ah, I don't know how to explain it. When you live around different people for a long time and learn their habits, you feel the difference when something's off. Makes my job easier when people are honest, but what are you going to do? Everybody's hiding something. Most of the time it's not any of my business to ask.

Word of advice, never forget to look around every once in a while. The shape of the landscape, the animals' behavior, the routines of townspeople, even the direction that grass grows. Tells you more about a place than anything you'll ever read in a book. The world moves around you. Never know what you'll notice if you remember to look.

You pick lots of things up when you spend this much time on the road. Whittling, sewing, embroidering. Keeps the hands busy, keeps the mind clear. Moonlighters' musician kid has been trying to teach me the lute, but ah... you definitely don't want to hear it.

My job takes me to many beautiful places, but none will ever replace the view from the mountains back home. I miss it sometimes. But a bodyguard doesn't get a break until the job is done, so reading my sister's letters will have to be enough until then.

Yolka's homemade pastries, no question. Even if I had no other reason to go home, I'd still do it just for her baking.

I'm not about to let anything go to waste just because I decided to get picky. Really, who do you take me for?

I heard a legend once about how long ago, Visions were granted by the gods out of love for humanity. With the archons as they are now, sometimes I wonder if that sentiment holds any weight.

Talented group, got promise. Invite me to their after-show parties too, which is rare for my employers. Nice people, even if they're loud as all hell. Something's strange about a few of them, though. They do a clean job of escaping my sight, when not many I've met can even begin to try. Doesn't sit right with me, even if they are my paycheck.

Self-absorbed. Blind, the lot of them. They can keep scheming all they like, but one day it'll put them in the ground.

Never even spoken to him and I can tell the boy radiates danger. Only seen him once and I never want to see that smug face again, not if I can help it.

You know, she challenged me to an arm wrestling contest once. And she almost won, too. She challenged me to a drinking contest after, but I wasn't about to test my luck.

You seem like the straightforward sort. I appreciate that about you. You know I've always got your back, but it's good to know you've got mine too.

Yolka- er, Yolanda - is my little sister. She keeps watch over our family cottage in the mountains. Never one for travelling, so when I decided to leave for good, she volunteered to stay. Getting letters from her is always a treat. She loves to tell me about what kind of trouble her little ones have been causing without me. She may be the gentlest soul I've ever known, but I know she can be a bit of a troublemaker herself. Perhaps it runs in the family.

(Yolka by me)

Ah, the flashy one. We've reminiced about home a few times. Sometimes they come out for fresh air when I'm on duty, and we watch the night sky together. Something's got them on edge. Maybe it's not my business, but I see it when they think I'm not paying attention. I just hope they never give me a reason to worry, so I can keep watching them perform in peace. Hard to look away when they're on stage, even for me.

I thought he just liked the sound of his own voice, but he actually has something to say most of the time. Never had somebody explain machines to me in a way that made as much sense. Didn't think I'd hit it off with a scholar, but he's down to earth, this one. I just hope his good will doesn't get him into trouble with the types who don't return the favor. Maybe after this gig is over...well. Gotta make sure he makes it back to his kid safe, you know?
