Silver's Links
Erin is the only reason Silver was able to bring himself to end his passivity in life. Before she inserted herself into his shell, he just silently sequestered himself away and let the world pass over him. She was the one who invited him into happiness.
And it's only thanks to her that he now has a chance to try and fix the mistakes he caused by not stepping up. And she keeps him company and makes him happy in a way he's never known before.
She's like a sister to him. And he couldn't have asked for a better sister, nor a better partner.
Maybe a better aunt, though.
Silver started off a friend she noticed at OLCMC with a similar gradient to hers- and from there they eventually became research partners. Erin always enjoyed his company, and though he wasn't as nearly as touchy feely or excitable as she was, she never minded, often enjoying the quiet company. ...There is.. little doubt that without Silver, Erin would have self destructed and become dust after the events of OLCMC. She blamed herself, but Silver was able to remind her that it was Reina, not her. It was Reina who destroyed what was meant to be a peaceful establishment. Erin appreciates Silver so so much, and considers him a brother- the only family she actually cares to protect. Even though she has a lot of self doubt bubbling up inside her following the events of OLCMC, Silver always manages to calm her down, bring her back down to Earth, and with him by her side she's able to focus on future plans.
Lyren used to cause Silver a lot of distress, because seeing her used to only remind him of what he helped facilitate, and who he failed to protect the most.
But... Now, he sees she's not gone. Not totally. And in this person is a second chance. Someone he's going to care for and protect with his life, and someone for whom he can never shy down and hide from anymore.
[THE QUIET SCIENTIST WHO HELPED HER!!!!! SHE LOVES HIM!!! HE IS SWEET!!!!]
{they never knew each other, but she wishes she did....}
Lyren loves Silver like an older sibling. A lot of her Maren comes out whenever she's around him, and she can often end up acting a little bit childish around him, but she is //happy// around him, which is a far cry from what she used to be. Lyren gets a lot of her confidence from Silver, and does her best to help him around the lab.
She's got some serious issues.
Fortunately, he's a doctor. Open wide you monster.
Ugh. The scientist who helped her daughter spread the //slander// about her to the Nebula. Reina honestly hates him, and regrets hiring him, or ever trusting him in senior staff. If it weren't for him, maybe Erin wouldnt have noticed her little... experiments. For the //GREATER GOOD//. Erin would've understood.
//If it wasn't for Silver ruining her plans//.
/////She wants him dead./////
Maren...
Dream. I'm so sorry Maren.
HER SCIENCE FRIEND!! Maren liked it when Erin and Silver came to check on them but she loved Silver the best!! He was always so grumpy and she always made an effort to try to make him smile.
She had no idea what he was doing, or what data that he needed from her and Piper, but she was always happy to oblige - he was a lot gentler than a lot of the nurses were anyway, which she appreciated.
Before Reina cornered her, one of her last thoughts was of Silver, and if maybe he'd be able to save her.
He kind of did, in a way.
Dreamweaver bless Waker for answering his missive. He was sort of running out of options when he decided to hire an ex-pirate "with a heart of gold" as she self-asserted.
But he didn't come to regret it. Though stiff-willed and hard-headed, he understood where Waker was coming from and, secretly, he's glad she barked some sense into Erin.
Waker's the kind of person Silver would happily work with again. She gets things done and he respects that.
Where Erin found Nalivka, Silver will never know.
Seriously, when he said "We need the strongest heroes in the land" he didn't mean someone who was /actually/ in the land.
And yet, between her intense skill in battle and uniquely straight-forward method of dealing with threats others would squirm against, Nalivka proved to Silver she was a great hero.
...But on a personal level, he sincerely hopes he never has to share a direct conversation with her.
Dude, you need to shape up. Like, seriously, she could pick you up with one arm.
...She could pick up the rest of the ink family with her other arm but that's besides the point.
Still, Silver seems a good dude. And uh... father figure...? The kids sure seem happy.
She might've not shown it much, but she's grateful for the photo he managed to get her. And also he took her sudden jumpkick to the face quite graciously so you know. Respect for that.
Ferem might be the greatest hiring decision Silver ever made in his entire career.
Between what they directly observed and from what Piper and Lyren reported, Ferem held the team cool and collected, even when his own faith was shaken.
And he saved lives. A lot of them. Silver's own included.
He is indebted to him.
