Varic is a very upbeat, friendly person, who loves helping others. He'll drop everything to lend a hand to anyone in need, whether they're capable of repaying the favor or not. True to his firbolg nature, he doesn't really have an interest in monetary gain. He's more interested in the adventure, the warm fuzzies, and making friends.
His optimism can often be mistaken for naivety, but Varic isn't as innocent and doe-eyed as he appears. As much as he abhors senseless violence, he isn't against violence in itself. (Though, he does have an aversion to blood, and tends to get queasy upon seeing a lot of gore.) Varic will always be a diplomat first and foremost, but he's more than capable of defending himself or putting a physical end to fights — mostly in part due to his giant-strength.
Despite being wise beyond his years and having the eyes of a hawk, he's still not well versed in the world outside of his birth-community. He's usually quick to catch on and learn, but can come off as gullible. Varic is also rather charming in a very sweet way, always polite and courteous to others (so long as they're the same to him and his friends).

FLAWS

• I was raised to believe that necromancy is a sacred and celebrated art. I did not know it was considered "evil" to the outside world.
• I would bend over backwards to satiate my curiosity.
• My piety sometimes leads me to blindly trust those that profess faith in my culture.

• He's like if a puppy, highland cow, & a unicorn-deer, was a firbolg.
• His familiar's name is Zev.
  • She can shift between the form of a raven & a badger, though she's easy to recognize in either form.
• His horns are wooden carvings, not a physical mutation, and act as a foci for his innate magic.
  • Horns & prosthetic arm are from the same wood.
    • Both were carved by his older sister, who is the clan artisan.
  • Prosthetic arm is used for "casting" a temporary version of  Myconid’s spore-speech that affects undead as well as the living. Varic uses this to communicate with the undead (such as zombies, skeletons, etc), in an effort to find out how to put them back to rest.
• Has unusually sharp, wolf-like teeth; a gift from his pacted weapon.
• Varic primarily wears his hair down and braided, but will sometimes put it up in a ponytail.
• Prosthetic arm attaches at the shoulder.
• Masterful at brewing teas.
• Plays the kalimba!
• Sometimes has major Dad Energy.
• Big time cuddler. While alseep, anything (or anyone) within arms length will eventually be pulled in and snuggled. He has an ironlike grip, so good luck escaping before he wakes up.
• Varic's primary love language is physical touch. He also likes to show love through acts of service, such as cooking for the party, doing laundry, and shopping for someone.
• Varic’s patron is his chain-blade. He’s bound to it, Kratos style, and per his pact contract, he cannot wield any other weapon.
  • Said chain-blade is sentient, though it doesn't speak in the traditional sense. It communicates with Varic though resonances of strong emotions, impulses, and former-wielder's muscle memories.
• Varic's want to travel outside of the circle is looked down upon by most of the clan, though not (completely) in a malicious way. Most are concerned for his safety, be that physical or ego. The upper-world does not take kindly to those who dabble with undeath, even for just or good reasons.
