Old salt warrior, obviously losing so many parts (all those years ago) in battle means he had no choice but to retire
he USED to train warriors after a long tenure on royal guard, but even teaching proper sword and defense technique can be taxing, so it's easier for him to focus on woodworking... mostly carving while sitting. he is a bit embarrassed about it but he can't deny it feels good to create things that have no violence behind them

for the most part he is quite amicable and even can be outright jovial, especially if he's given a pint of ale to nurse on his own. he's not prone to looking back on his previous 'life' woefully as he finds fulfillment in many new niches he would've never known otherwise. 'no news is good news', as they say.
it's pretty rare for him, buuuut he can come off stern if only for his fatherly nature that he isn't good at keeping under wraps. if he's being bossy or sharp, it's only because he care you 💝

it is extremely unlikely to see him without his crutch. he carved it himself (only over time properly shaping it, haha), and it was one of the first things that put him on to woodworking.
