Ash

• Boots have some fluff on them right before the heel
• The bags on her belt are optional 
• Goggles are optional
• She always wears her hat
• Can be drawn in comfy oversized sweaters
• Tends to wear a lot of white/gray/purple/and blue. She stays clear of warm colors generally.

Ash is very friendly, open-minded, and always ready to help others, she has a big heart and always means well. Though- she can tend to talk and act before thinking which can come off as pushy and lead to misunderstandings. It's a problem she's aware of and sometimes needs to be pointed out in order for her to remember to 'think before she speaks.'

One prime personality trait of hers is how she never judges someone before she gets a chance to meet and talk to them. This does get her in trouble but is also how she comes to know and trust Drake, her soul-bound partner.

She can be a people pleaser at times and put herself last, she feels she never deserves to be first on her priority list, everyone else should come before her. Ash tends to put herself down a lot, despite all the good she does she feels she's never worthy of praise or kindness in return. Because of this, she does tend to force herself to smile even in situations when she shouldn't be.

Coming from a noble family, Ash was the firstborn and thus was doted on for her poor health. Managing to survive a majority of her childhood, it took a turn for the worse around the age of six. No matter what doctors they called upon none were able to help the fading little girl. Thus her parents turned to illegal magic, despite not being magic users themselves they weren't going to quit till they tried everything possible to save their daughter.

Eventually, they found a curse that would at least lengthen their daughters' life, till they could find a better solution. This curse would bind her life to another in her age range. The only catch was it was random who she would be connected to and if they were to die or get gravely wounded- she too would meet the same fate.
Thankfully the person she was bound to was a strong one, and besides some random bumps and cuts, she never faced anything beyond that. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to stay with her family long after the curse was successfully placed. A servant had gone to the authorities and had turned the parents in for their use of illegal magic. Scared and afraid Ash was too young to understand why she was being taken from her parents and why they too were being sent far away.

Ash was later sent to the mages school of Ipus where she grew up. While her parents were sent to a magical prison and her little brother left in the care of distant relatives. Being quite young when taken she never quite understood the reason she was taken from her family. Spending her years vigorously studying in hopes that if she got good grades she could go home, it wasn't till she was a teenager did she realize/fully grasp why she was at this school.

Her parents were eventually allowed to be under house arrest but by then Ash was too busy to visit and didn't desire to. She harbored a lot of guilt that her parents used such a method to save her, only for their family to fall apart and her little brother to be left alone. She understood it but it didn't stop the guilt that ate her up.  She pushed it down for a lot of years and focused on her studies and the few relationships she had among her peers.
