Emílie Adelland's Links
adelland is aware of dexter's obsession with north, but dismisses it as nothing more than an intense rivalry and is determined not to bring attention to it or let on that she's paying it any mind. quite aside from how much time dexter spends on them, she dislikes north because they remind her of her past lover, who was also quiet and unassuming and charming when he wanted to be, though none of this stopped him from killing her in the end.
except in the early days, when north stuck their nose into dexter's business all the time (and vice-versa), they never interacted much with his gang. as dexter's preferred arm-candy, adelland was an exception, but if dexter was hoping for a fight he was sorely disappointed - adelland spoke to north with an icy courtesy, while north treated her much the same as they did everyone else. eventually dexter got bored of pitting her against north and stopped bringing her out to see them; nowadays they politely avoid each other when they do meet.
dexter began courting adelland after coincidentally meeting her at her fortune-telling shop, not long after he reached an agreement with north re: kidnapping FMNs. one thing led to another, and now her business serves as a base for dexter’s informants. even at the start, dexter was never emotionally attached to adelland, though he liked how pretty she was. he keeps her around because she’ll latch on to any bit of attention he gives her and having a hanger-on boosts his ego.
