Grim [Real name unknown] is The drummer for the rock band Batless. His existance is one wrapped with layers upon layers of mystery, ones not even his fellow bandmates have entirely unraveled. Staying in the shadows for the most part, it seems Grim prefers it to be this way: He's not one to enjoy the spotlight
Appearance
Grim is a small Caucasian male with scraggly, raven black hair and green eyes. He dawns a marching band hat, a beige vest with a white shirt underneath, and striped socks. Yes he doesn't wear shoes, no one knows why.
He also dawn a large coat [or cloak?], almost as big as he is. It has 3 latches to close up the coat, a turtleneck collar and shoulder pads. The most intriquing feature regarding this coat, however, is the sheer amount of pockets located in its interior. Often, these hold daggers or throwing knives, but sometimes he'll hide something else there. On top of that, he has a skull mask, to hide his face. Which he does almost any time he's out in public or touring.
Personality
Grim is a simple man; he does what he's supposed to do, acts with integrity, and serves as a dependable and grounded backbone for the band. However, he sucks at empathy at a greater level and struggles with anything outside of what's actually logical. He's also far more distant compared to his bandmates. Although, that's just how he's been since day 1. He can also be morbid if he feels like it. His motives for being in a band are known only to him. Regardless, he's a terrifying force to reckon with if you press him or hurt one of his bandmates.
Background
Before Batless
For the most part, no one actually knows what he was doing before he was in the band. Any attempts to ask are met with silence or changing the subject. This has left fans to speculate what he was like before his appearance in the band. Some say he was a runaway: A kid who left a broken home to find some kind of family that'd give him the appreciation he never got. Others claim he was just some wanderer, without purpose or meaning until he crossed paths with the band via a response to an ad they put up. Although, a few claim that he is the exact opposite of an innocent or broken soul: Rather, he was a twisted and sick individual. An assassin for hire, even, who went into hiding after a botched assassination attempt. All in all, until he clarifies these rumors, no one actually knows what he was like: Not even anyone in Batless.
First Appearance
Grim was first encountered by the band when he responded to an ad they posted seeking a drummer. According to many of the other band members, he had informed them that as much as he'd like to meet all of them in person, there was some slight complications and he'd have to speak to only one of them: which ended up being Richard. Despite the circumstances, the interview and show of skill went well, and Grim joined the band as their drummer.
Present
As of current, Grim holds true to his alignment with the band. Even if he's a bit odd at times, his skill with the drums and general tendency to stay out of drama has allowed the band to stay somewhat cohesive. Although, he tends to stick with Richard most of the time, even going so far as to live with him. He's hardly seen completely alone, and the times he is alone is when many claim he's at his most unsettling, humming tunes to himself while inspecting the very few personal belongings he has.
Abilities
- Musical talent - Incredibly proficient with drums
- Although, he's also been seen messing with pianos, guitars, cymbals, and trumpets.
- Poker face - Hardly ever intimidated or swayed
- High pain tolerance - If he's in agony, you wouldn't know it.
- Combat experience - Of all the band members, Grim holds the largest understanding on how to fight, and how to fight well.
- It's almost a little concerning how skilled he is, especially with bladed weapons.
- Socially oblivious - Whenever he means to or not, Grim does not understand social cues.
- This has landed him into trouble before, but the worst he's gotten was only some "Grim, WTF?"
- Lacks Empathy - He borderline can't relate to people. This unfortunately extends to even his bandmates.
- Judgemental - He's quick to judge people, and act based on that judgement.
- Stubborn - Once he sets his mind to something, he's not changing it unless there is no doubt what he's doing isn't working.
- Travel Sickles - Sharp, curved blades that can cut through flesh like it were made of paper.
- He tends to hide them somewhere on his person, although he won't show their existance unless he has to use them.
- Throwing Knives - Small knives meant for throwing. These are found in the inner pockets of his coat.
- "Who the hell is selling him these?!" -???
- Drumsticks - No one knows why he's carrying these on his person.
- Wallet - contains a picture of him and Molly, and a bit of cash. Doesn't even have a driver's liscense.
Trivia
- He's incredibly photoshy, and often wears a mask to hide his face.
- Fans constantly ship him and Richard together. Neither enjoy this, as they don't have any romatic interests towards each other.
- Has an odd fasination with death: the actual event, the philosophical concept, the various methods people die...all the same, draw his interest
- Was kicked in the balls once by Derek. Surprisingly, he didn't react much, if at all
- He's the only person who scares Berry. When asked why Grim scares him, Berry avoids the question.
- Has a fear of being tracked. When asked, all he mentions is it has something to do with his past, and how he "has a few people he doesn't want knowing where he is".
