HOLY COW I LOVEEEEEE UR ART <333333
I'd totally love to get to know you if you are comfortable with it /gen
Hello! Long time no see, how are you doing? [ This is Liiightning by the way, I moved accounts ]
hii!!
first of all: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE FANART <333 it's so beautiful!! it's in my new years eve mcyt compilation special!! i didn't want to comment on a random bulletin as to not break your boundaries, but i'm so glad you reached out so i can give you my thanks!! <33
also, i use the free version of videopad by nch software!! there's a couple versions you can download, varying from free, trial, or purchase (with more features). if you're looking into producing your own animatics it's great for that if you can learn/know how to use keyframes on a non-linear editing program. i taught it to myself through trial and error with no tutorials, so it's easy to pick up if you've never tried it before :) the free version also comes with a few transitions/effects you can choose from, although audio editing is limited. i recommend if you also want to add effects to audio, you look into downloading audacity as well (also free).
just a fair note though: i'm not sure i would say videopad is the best program out there lol. it's practically the only one i've ever used and it serves its purpose, but i've heard some poor reviews about it. from personal experience, it can get laggy at times, and sometimes because of it, your project won't preview or export properly. i've been able to salvage stuff like that through screen recording, although i know not every device comes with that feature automatically.
if you have any other questions, feel free to let me know!! <3 and thanks so much for reaching out and for the fanart, again!! :D
i'm assuming you mean the two-frame hand-drawn text usually on end-screens... and if so, here's how i do that:
individually save the frames, then upload them into videopad (gifs can be used, but for smaller animations i tend to just directly take the frames). then i usually use the motion effect and keyframes to create a custom transition for the text to appear on the first frame i've dragged in. i size that to whatever length it needs to be to line up with the audio, and then i use the split tool to create cuts in that one frame. then, between those splits, i replace all the frame 1s to the ascending frames, 1>2>3>4 etc. until it looks animated.
if i have a long animation i first take all my frames and upload them into https://ezgif.com/maker to make a gif. i then take that gif into videopad and add whatever motion, etc. there's a few downsides of both methods tho:
1. the frame-by-frame placement is time consuming and you can't always guarantee where you split the clips will be the same length; it's all done by eye
2. the gifs are really pixelated, and i've had issues where sometimes my files corrupt or something and videopad is dumb so it won't accept the gif. it will let me put the gif into the program, but when i drag it to the timeline it's only a single frame and i still haven't found a way to fix it other than to e-mail my frames to a friend to use the same gif maker and send me the gif file their pc created ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
and if you mean plain text like captions; there's a text feature which is compatible to any custom fonts you download online. :)
lmk if this is what you were looking for as an answer, or if you have any questions!! it's hard to explain without visuals lol
you're not bothering me at all lol, i love being able to help, especially about editing and art since they are things i'm passionate about!!
about the keyframes (since i think you have videopad installed now), first drag in an image, gif, video, or whatever you'd like into the timeline. right click it and press effects. a good example is motion, since i use it a lot. you should see a box with the exact coordinates, rotation settings, etc. the most important thing though is that you ensure that in the top right hand corner you hover over that small graphic that looks like a weird triangle with an arrow; that's the way to manually set keyframes. if you hover over it, it will say "show or hide the effect animation editor". make sure you press it so it shows. then to the right of the initial box you should see another box appear with seconds on the bottom and grids across it. i tend to extend it horizontally a bit to get the most room. then, with this box, you have to ability to set keyframes by pressing the add button in the top left corner. it will add a keyframe wherever your red line cursor thing (idk what it's called lol) is on the grid. when making keyframes, in order to make something move for example, at each new keyframe you can drag around the image/gif/video in the preview to essentially change its end location when it reaches that keyframe.
for the ones i use with subtitles/captions i use the text feature (press the T [add text]) at the top and then select simple text overlay. then once you press it, it should automatically open a text editor. there you can change the preview from "title text" to what you'd like, and then at the top of this box there is an option for outline. press the checkmark, select the color, and then change the slider to determine how much of a border you'd like. :)
aHH thank you so much, that means an absolute ton to me; sorry i didn't see this sooner, i must have nuked my communication notifs!!
you have absolutely awesome art too!! i love how wonderfully stylized it is, it's a perfect blend of everything-- you're a master in your craft loL

OH MY GOD THAT IS LITERALLY SOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! EVERYTHING FROM THE SWEET CHARACTER INTERACTION TO THE LIGHTING AND BACKGROUND AND SHADING AND CHARACTERS THEMSELVES I JUSTT AHHHHHH IT'S SO STUNNNING!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH AHHHHHH
i might draw pouncing as a phantom later sometime so i can add her a page on toyhouse!! we'll see how lazy i get LOL
phhht i barely understand that sort of code. however, there are a lot of people on toyhou.se who make free code bases, where you can insert whatever you want. most people focus on profile codes (like the banner i have) or character codes. if you find a free one, you can use it under that person's specific terms/policy after editing the text you want displayed. for example, i got my base code free from togedemaru. i also know people such as eggy also produce codes. i would just do a little searching and you could easily find something to use!!
hi lol!! currently i have a trade going on with somebody else on toyhou.se, so after i finish that up i can get back to you, for sure!! i just don't want to have too much on my plate at once ;u;
of course!! you should have been on there for longer (as well as other people) but i used to only keep my list limited to people i was friends with in real life who had toyhou.se. :)
oh my gosh of course!! i have a lot of homework right now too, but hey, all my projects are due this week so hopefully i won't have any to work on over the weekend, meaning i can draw away!! :D you can draw literally any of my characters you want, but of course the ones in primary are my b e a n s. who are you looking for some art of??

Hello everyone!!
This is A _Pouncing_Cat and welcome to my account here on Toyhou.se!! I am very excited to have received an invite code and am happy to meet you all and get to some art trades.
I am still getting used to everything on toyhou.se, as I haven't done much yet and am looking about for my friend's profiles currently. I am also open for the requests as of now, and am working already for @cinnamonpuff on Scratch.
I have participated in the arts for a long time now, and if you would like a sneak peek at some of my stuff you can check me out by following this link to Scratch, a kid-safe coding website (Which I used for art and animation), or you could check out my gaming YouTube channel A Pouncing Cat by following the second link. (Everything there is Minecraft, with a kid-friendly version of commentary.)

Another side note it that I only have Scratch and Toyhou.se for art (and animation) so I can not follow links to other websites. Thanks!!
Once again, I hope you enjoy meeting me and learning my style, and have fun requesting!
