Hunters

A modern world fantasy story where a group of teenagers are regular students by day, and demon hunters by night.
||Lore Guide||

Maybe Damien's home city isn't the most fascinating of places in comparison to those in the nearby United States and it's cousins to the east, but little does the world know it holds its secrets.  It is, in actuality, a cesspool for the advent of demons, skulking, rat-like creatures who feed off of negative energies, unseen to the human eye.  Lucky for them, the city has its demon hunters: humans blessed with the second sight, able to locate and dispose of these creatures who unknowingly threaten civilians livelihoods.  Though they exist in many places across the world, here the government cooperates with three great Hunter clans to keep their people safe.  The mighty dragon, Eltanin.  The swift fox, Vulpecula.  And the clever eagle, Altair. Together, these three clans have combated demons in the area for centuries, but when an advent of demons start rushing to one of it's cities, far more than any of them can handle, the balance of the Hunter world is threatened.

Young Damien is a hunter-in-training of the Eltanin clan on the same squad as his best friend Samuel, kept under the watchful eye of his coordinator and godfather, Isaac Satou.  Until now, his life was pretty much as normal as it could be as the son of the clan leader, balancing his fantastical escapades to the Hunter world with his average, everyday school life.  But when an angel girl named Nadia decides to pick him as his charge, not only does he have to deal with a pretty much immortal girl with powers showing up at school, but also the rumours of a bad omen, since her people - the Devas - join with Hunters only in the worst of circumstances, and hadn't been seen in centuries.  Damien can't help but wonder what's in store for him - as well as the mystery of why the demons are invading his home.

Note: In this setting, demons are revealed later in the story to actually be a fantasy race that call themselves the Asura.   The name Asura and demon are used interchangeably in many of these bios!
