Here's basically how I do it:

1: make a square or rectangle of the size of your choice

2: draw something in the middle of the square (different layer)

3: make a border that matches the edge of the square (same layer as the middle object)

4: using the borders split your object layer horizontally then vertically so your center object will now me in the 4 corners

5: erase the borders

6: draw another object at the center

7(optional): you can add more object if you want for a more busy/detailed pattern. The background behind the object can be a solid color or you can have it striped or whatever

I recently hosted a lil Auction for one of my recent designs and I was wondering what was yall opinion on it.

In the past auctions have been a bit hit or miss for me but in more recent times with the chibi batches I often run into the issue where there's one specific design of the batch that get 5 people asking for them at once making me feel like maybe doing occasional auctions for designs I feel might get the "me plz" factor could work? But then again it's kind of a guessing game as to which design would be most though after.

Maybe I could keep the FCFS chibi batches as is but then also have 1 occasional auction either at the same time or before/after the batch separated by a few weeks.

Should I do auctions more or nah?

Also if I do so should I keep the "Autobuy package" the same of do different things? Right now the package I tend to go to is 2 selfies and 6 chibi emotes (see example of the last auction below)

Like for example idk how useful chibi emotes might be for some people so maybe I could swap them for a bigger fullbody shaded illustration or an animated pagedoll, maybe even ditch both the selfies and emotes for a wholeass Live2D model. Of course I'd give the person who does guy the character the choice but since I pre-sketch the add-on to better help people get an idea as to what they would be getting so knowing what the majority would prefer would help a lil.

I will for sure finish the art and guide but I still dont know if Ill add it to my open/free to use species collection or sell the rights to the species to someone so they can decided to use use either just for themselves or make it a open/closed species other people can join
