Zircon often talks about justice. She’s sure that everything is right now. And me… I don’t know. I’m not used to thinking about things like that. I used to just follow orders. Everything was clear. The Diamonds were great. Their word was law. But now… everything’s upside down. Zircon talks about the War like it was something bad, about the Crystal Gems like they were heroes. I listen, nod, smile… but inside, I’m all tangled up. Weren’t they traitors? Didn’t they break the order?
I don’t say any of that out loud. I don’t think she’d understand. Or… maybe I’m afraid I’m the one who doesn’t understand. She’s probably right. She’s smart, confident. And I’m just… an ordinary quartz soldier who never knew anything beyond her colony and homeworld.
