Territory
FrostClan territory is high in the mountains, distant from the other clans. Their path to the Great Gathering Stone is a long climb downhill. They are farthest from the Moon Field, making that a difficult journey.

--
Weather
The mountain top is cold and windy. There are hotsprings that break up the chilled area with warmth. FostClan's camp is protected by a wall of snow, hardened and weathered, that protescts them from the worst of the wind and the predators and contains the heat radiating from the hotspring in camp.
Prey
Their camoflage helps them to surprise their prey of birds, rabbits, and lemmings.
Predators
These brave and solitary cats face large cliffs, freezing temperatures, ice, snow, rockfalls, avalanches, and even mountain lions.
History
Four littermates were born in a crumbling overgrown twoleg nest during dreadful weather. Their names were Bright, Echo, Storm, and Frost. The four grew up together hearing stories from Heart, their mother, about the strong clans that used to be around. The world was full of them, once. They had been forced to split up into smaller and smaller groups as territories turned to twoleg places. After a series of large disasters, there was now less of the twolegs wandering into nature and tearing up forests. It was time for cats to band together and provide safety and family like they used to. Such arrangements were needed now more than ever in the wake of such tumultous events.
When their mother passed, Bright, Echo, Storm, and Frost decided to make her dreams reality and form a clan. In the traditional style of clan cats, they added second names to their own, each taking the suffix "Heart" After their mother.
Frostheart was sturdy and creative. She helped to find or make temporary shelters from bad weather as they traveled and found more cats together, and often went out hunting in conditions that most others could not. HeartClan was doing well, but they were beginning to get tired of travel and some of the cats, especially the expecting queens, wished for a place to settle and rest permanently.
Echoheart and a handful of others decided to end their journey in the rock-laden and cave-filled field that today makes up EchoClan territory. The rest of the large group that made up HeartClan regretfully said their farewells and agreed to find their own territories in the area, not wanting to live in the dark caves. Before they left, Echoheart proposed that the siblings arrange to meet up every full moon at an especially large boulder, so they could catch up on news and see how each group was doing. The rest eagerly agreed, and that was the beginning of the regular clan gatherings, the number of cats attending increasing each year from just the siblings, to them and their families, to a large portion of each clan wanting to socialize with the others.
At Brightheart's encouragement, Frostheart split away from the group with some of the cats she had befriended to look for territory. She ended up taking them to the mountains, curious what coud be found there and eager to make use of her skills once again. She devised a plan to set up camp near one of the hotsprings and got to work building shelter with the others. She arranged for The Circle as a way to ensure most cats would be heard before decicions were made. Disinterested in finding a mate, Frostheart focused on making her clan thrive and connect like family.
Naming
Prefix is usually named after personality, animals, times, or actions (Brave-, Bear-, Dawn-, Pounce-, etc).
Suffix often comes from personality, skills, appearance changes, or body parts (-sorrow, -runner, -scar, -claw).
Traditions
Frost clan has no designated healer, and instead, all Apprentices are taught healing alongside fighting and hunting. They train whenever and wherever their mentor decides. Once an apprentice is old enough to become a warrior, they are invited to join The Circle.
The Circle is how FrostClan makes their decisions, relying on the knowledge of all clan members rather than one leader, and taking turns to be the representative at gatherings. As a result, none of them have nine lives, but they are all rumored to live slightly longer than the average cat.
Belief

Legends
There is a large, dangerous white beast roaming the mountains at night who will chase after young cats who stray from camp.

Clanmates
Clanmates are family. Cats who do terrible things are sorrowfully exiled after a trial by The Circle and their actions against their clan and family are mourned heavily.
Kittypet
Kittypets are incredibly rare to find all the way up there, and are met with surprise, confusion, and respect for their strength of curiosity. They are allowed to stay and warm up and eat, free to leave when they feel ready for the journey back.
Loner
Loners are ignored but given food and shelter if requested, as well as some advice and techniques to live well in the area.
Rogue
Rogues are sent away on sight.
StarClan is treated with respect, but some cats do not believe in them while others feel distant from them.
Bountiful Land, Generous Hearts
In a mountain valley beneath Frostclan live the fluffy cats of StormClan. StormClan cats have generous dispositions and the medicine cats who reside there often gift or trade herbs and berries with other clans because they have so much to spare.

Territory
StormClan territory is between EchoClan and the FrostClan mountains. They have a relatively short path to the Great Gathering Stone after crossing a rier and some rubble. They are closest the Moon Field and from the edge of their territory can see the glowing stones spread across it like stars in the dark.

Weather
The lush valley is given mixed hours of sunlight and shade as the sun hits new angles on the mountain above them. A river flows nearby and brings cool, clean water. Herbs grow in abundance and prey is plentiful.
Prey
They eat mostly frogs, fish, mice, and birds.
Predators
Some challenges that come with the territory are floods and landslides from the nearby mountains, and they are always on the lookout for bears or foxes.

Stormheart was a strong and sturdy tom who protected his littermates from wild cats, dogs, and other such dangers as they traveled and found more cats together. HeartClan was doing well, but they were beginning to get tired of travel and some of the cats wished for a place to settle and rest permanently. Stormheart was heavily injured and in need of recovery as well.
Echoheart and a handful of others decided to end their journey in the rock-laden field that today makes up EchoClan territory. Brightheart decided to let her littermates choose where they would live first, wanting to ensure they were pleased with their territories and feeling responsible as the oldest. Stormheart was helped to the valley full of wildflowers and herbs, allowed to rest by the stream while the cats he had helped along the way helped him in return until he could regain his strength. They built a lovely camp in the well-deserved bountiful area. Stormheart became mates with a shy tom and a fierce she-cat, the three raising their kits with the instructions to always help those in need, no matter the clan.

Clanmates
Clanmates are treated as family. Names are frequently passed down through generations, either the same prefix/suffix or swapped in order from the previous user of the name (Lilybug > Lilykit or Bugkit).
Kittypet
Kittypets are offered the opportunity to become a part-time apprentice. Part-time apprentices do not receive a warrior name unless they leave kittypet life and join the clan full time, but they are welcome to remain a part-time apprentice as long as they are helpful to the clan.
Loner
Loners are mostly left alone as long as they don't cause trouble or use up resources, and are simply passing through. They are also offered a place in the clan if desired.
Rogue
Rogues are given one warning. If there is a second sighting by a patrol, they will attack to drive them off.
StarClan is treated with respect and reverence. Cats in tune with StarClan, such as the medicine cat, medicine cat apprentice, or others who have honed a deeper connection than typically expected are equally treated with respect but not revered.
StormClan has had a few border skirmishes with Echoclan in the past, but rarely. EchoClan normally stays to themselves, so the two do not often come into conflict. They have helped each other out a few times.
FrostClan is very far from StormClan and they do not interact often aside from gatherings.
BrightClan has been generally welcoming of StormClan, but they are far apart and don't often hae reason to meet aside from gatherings.
Quiet Voices, Loud Hearts
Hidden in the cracks and crevices of a rock-covered plain next to BrightClan and StormClan, reside the cats of Echoclan. Dark-furred and stealthy, they creep through the tunnels and caves like shadows, leaving no trace.
Strengths
Stealth, Camoflage, Small Spaces
Weaknesses
Cave collapse, Snake bite, Flood

Territory
EchoClan territory is between the open fields of BrightClan on one side and the lush StomClan camp on the other. Their path to the Great Gathering Stone is moderately difficult with a lot of rubble and large boulders to climb over. They are second closest to the Moon Field, making that an easier journey than for some others.

The clan leader makes announcements and performs clan ceremonies from a ledge partway up the main cave’s wall. Below the ledge is the leader’s den, a cozy space just big enough for them, their mate, and a trusted confidant or two. Close to the entrance of the Main cave and protecting the Elder’s den lies the Warrior's den, separated by a row of stalagmites. Across from that is the Apprentice’s den.

Weather
The sun warms the tops of the stones, making it a nice place to sunbathe and keeping it warm a few hours into the night as well. There is plenty of shade to be found under rocks or in caves. The caves themselves can get quite cool, some even dripping with moisture or with underground streams traveling through.
Prey
They prey on pale-skinned lizards, tiny mice, fish from underground streams, and the occasional mole.
Predators
Their territory is not without danger; badgers, snakes, sharp rocks, invisible streams hidden by darkness, floods, and cave collapses are a normal part of life.

Echoheart was a very quiet tom who preferred to think before speaking. He saved his littermates many times with his cleverness and insight as they traveled and found more cats together. HeartClan was doing well, but they were beginning to get tired of travel and some of the cats, especially the expecting queens (Echoheart's mate amongst them), wished for a place to settle and rest permanently.
Echoheart, his mate, and a handful of others decided to end their journey in the rock-laden and cave-filled field that today makes up EchoClan territory. He decided it was an excellent location with enough prey, water, sunlight, and shade to be satisfied. The rest of the large group that made up HeartClan regretfully said their farewells and agreed to find their own territories in the area, not wanting to live in the dark caves.

Clanmates
Clanmates are treated with respect. The names of EchoClan cats who do extraordinary things are frequently reused due to good association. Cats who do terrible things are exiled from the clan, their names are typically not reused due to bad reputation.
Kittypet
Kittypets are swiftly escorted to the closest edge of the territory. They have three warnings before the patrol gets orders to attack on sight.
Loner
Loners are informed of the territory lines and escorted to the edge. If they return more than three times, they are told to either join the clan or not return to the territory. If they refuse to join but keep coming back anyway, the patrols will be ordered to attack on sight.
Rogue
Rogues are given three warnings. If they don't stay away after, they will be attacked on sight.
StarClan is treated with respect and reverence. The medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice are equally treated with respect, but not revered.
EchoClan has had a few border skirmishes with BrightClan in the past, but rarely. EchoClan dislikes the image of living in the open instead of the cover of caves, and does not know how BrightClan can stand it. They also don't like how "uppity" BrightClan can get about their supposed stronger connection to StarClan.
The Red-Sands Tribe is fairly far away, they do not interact often aside from gatherings.
When herbs are scarce, StormClan provides what they can spare. In the rare event of a cave or tunnel collapse, EchoClan has once or twice asked for StormClan assistance and it was given to them. EchoClan appreciates having the option but tends to be put off by the eagerness and friendliness of StormClan, and finds it suspicious. However, if StormClan has an issue, they will help to pay off what StormClan has done for them.
Open Skies, Open Hearts

Across the camp from the medicine den is the nursery, a cozy place inside a large fallen log, separated from the elders by a wall of twigs and mud in the middle. More thickets and brambles mark the den shared by warriors and Apprentices. Apprentices train in an area outside camp where the long grass has been flattened after repeated use.
Weather
The sun shines brightly and there is very little shade, most cooling provided by strong wind blowing across the prairie.
Prey
The cats here eat mostly rabbits, mice, and prairie dogs/gophers.
Predators
Because they are mostly open to the sky, hawks can be very dangerous. Kits must be watched carefully so they aren't carried away. The badger on EchoClan territory occasionally wanders into theirs looking for food and water. They are sometimes burdened by drought, and other times by flash flooding after heavy and unexpected rainfall.

Brightheart was a cheerful she-cat who often took the lead with her littermates. She led them out of the abandoned twolegplace and into the wild as they traveled and found more cats together. HeartClan was doing well, but they were beginning to get tired of travel and some of the cats, especially the expecting queens, wished for a place to settle and rest permanently.
Echoheart and a handful of others decided to end their journey in the rock-laden field that today makes up EchoClan territory. Brightheart decided to let her littermates choose where they would live first, wanting to ensure they were pleased with their territories and feeling responsible as the oldest. She ended up with the open field near Echoheart's Clan, and decided to set up camp in the shallow shelter of a dried up riverbank. Of the cats that stayed with her instead of going with a littermate, she eventually found love with a wonderful she-cat and the two lived out their days in peace, raising a few kittens who had lost their parents as their own.

Clanmates
Clanmates are treated with love and respect. BrightClan cats who do extraordinary things are talked about in stories passed down through the clan, and their names are not allowed to be used again out of respect. Cats who do terrible things are exiled from the clan and never spoken of again, their names can be reused because they act as though the cat never existed.
Kittypet
Kittypets are kindly but firmly escorted back to the nearest twoleg place. If a kittypet has returned to the territory multiple times, they are offered the opportunity to become a part-time apprentice.
If a well-behaved and familiar loner is found injured or in trouble, BrightClan will take them in for treatment and let them go once they feel well enough.
Rogue
Rogues are given one warning. If there is a second sighting by a patrol, they will attack to drive them off.
StarClan is treated with respect and reverence. Cats in tune with StarClan, such as the medicine cat, medicine cat apprentice, or others who have honed a deeper connection than typically expected are equally treated with respect and reverence. Because their camp is open to the night sky, BrightClan cats believe they have a strong connection to StarClan than most of the other clans. This has never been definitively proven.
BrightClan has had a few border skirmishes with Echoclan in the past, but rarely. EchoClan normally stays to themselves. The biggest issue is the badger that keeps straying from its EchoClan home onto BrightClan territory. BrightClan dislikes the image of living in caves instead of seeing the open sky, and does not know how EchoClan can stand it.
FrostClan is very far from BrightClan and they do not interact often aside from gatherings.
BrightClan do not run into the Red-Sands Tribe often, and have not battled over territory or resources. On occasion, if BrightClan is struggling with drought, the Red-Sands Tribe will allow the BrightClan cats to come and drink from the river by their camp. Conversely, in the case of flash flooding affecting the Tribe cats, BrightClan will invite them to take shelter in their territory.
BrightClan has been offered help and support from the prosperous StormClan many times through history. When prey or herbs are scarce, StormClan provides what they can spare. A StormClan cat found in their territory is eagerly welcomed and thanked.

Territory
Red-Sands territory is down in a sandy red gorge carved by a river. They have a relatively short path to the Great Gathering Stone but do not attend unless they have good reason to, as they are not part of the clans. They are far from the Moon Field and have no desire to visit it.

Weather
Warm but shaded. The sand retains heat for a few hours after sundown. The water is warm and slow when low, but swift and cold after a rainfall.
Prey
They eat mostly fish from the river that runs through their territory.
Predators
They have little-to-no predictors. There are some places the cats avoid, however, due to sharp and breakable shale, and the swift movement of the river.
History
The Tribe Of Red Sands has been around since before the disaster. Their history is long and varied, difficult to retell. When the clan cats arrived in the wake of disaster, the Tribe allowed them to make themselves at home despite the cost to their once expansive territory.
A few clan cats have joined the Tribe after seeing the lifestyle suited them better. Some Tribe cats have also gone to join clans. Their fates are now intertwined, for better or worse.
The clan cats are luckily respectful and understanding of the Tribe and allow them to come and go as they please, but the Tribe typically keep to their gorge most of the time unless there is an emergency or they want to check in on the clans.
Naming
The names given to kits are one word long and inspired by nature. They are referred to as "Novice" (Novice Leaf). Once they have found their calling, they become "Proficient" (Proficient Leaf) and begin specific training.
After becoming Adept, they are given an additional name that relates to what they've chosen to do. (Adept Leaf the Healer)
Upon achieving mastery of their calling, Specialists are given a more detailed phrase. (Specialist Leaf of Herb Uses And Application)
Some cats might go back a step or two on the progression if they want to change their focus to something else. A few Specialists begin again in a new calling for pure enjoyment of learning, and might earn several titles that way. (Specialist Leaf of Herb Uses And Application, Adept Hunter)
These titles are only used in formal situations or to remind someone of who has authority in a situation. They are also used for flattery or out of respect to a tribemate one looks up to. Aside from such instances, cats are simply called by their one-word name (which may change at any point if the cat feels something else is better suited to them).
Traditions
TRIBE ROLES:
- Novice - Often kits, a Novice knows little or nothing about their calling and can't work to any acceptable standard. They must be taught the basics before they have a chance of being productive. Typically taught by parents or other close family or friends. Their learning phase is "Show me how to do it"
- Proficient - Often older kits or young cats, they can perform tasks to basic standards and have some idea of their calling. Proficients may choose to end their guidance from family and seek out training for their calling from Adepts or a Specialist. Their learning phase is "Help me do it better"
- Adept - Often young or fully-grown cats, they are developing the ability to solve unexpected challenges and are starting to search for deeper information in their calling. Their learning phase is "Help me find what I need to do it myself"
- Specialist - Often fully-grown or elder cats, they create new knowledge, invent better ways to accomplish tasks in their calling, and teach others how to do it. Their learning phase is "I will create my own learning"
Belief
Red-Sands cats believe in rebirth after death, either as a cat or another animal entirely. Every life lived is an opportunity to learn and improve for the next time, and the 'best' cats are believed to have lived many times, while the cats who do bad things are considered new to living because they don't understand harmony, and are made to attend lectures or in the most deplorable of cases, 'given the opportunity to begin again' through death.
