This bulletin as been a long time coming, I’ve literally wanted to make it for months oops. But hey, Dungeon Meshi aka my favorite manga ended like a week ago and it’s time.
I’m going to go over many things that have happened since my last bulletin a year ago and talk about the changes I’m wanting for the future, oh and of course boosting my always active character purge. I want to downsize!! Please!! We reached the 666 characters milestone just a bit ago haha. So yeah, this bulletin is gonna be huge, I’ll spoiler things to keep it organized and split it in three parts!

Health update:

Tldr: I’m doing better but there’s still long to go. I still have energy issues but I’m overall kinda normal now? Maybe? Anyways yay!!

Career update: 

Tldr: I’m out of college and trying to freelance becoming a mangaka. Very scary but very exciting. I’ll be posting them online when they’re finished!

Career update p2 tldr: I need to stop spending so much time on here to focus on work.

On the flipside: I’ll try to move away from spending so much time on ocs & Toyhouse so I can start posting mangas and comics actually no joke for realsies. I want to become less active in the oc community. Want is a very important word because even if I put in actual efforts to stay away this’ll be HARD for me, ocs are my top hobby and I’m like a barnacle on this site’s hull. But I want to downsize, for one, and I wants to buy less too. I want to make less oc art so I can make more story art. I want to stop checking for notifications every 10 minutes and focus on what matters. I love the community, but goddammit I need to go less in the forums as well. So yeah! Oh also, I’d been focusing on fanart a bit last year and now oc art has taken over again, but I’m still planning to do a fair share of both even as I focus on mangas. But yeah! If you see me being online too much on here you have the right to shame me for it and tell me to go back to work 👋

All my trade details are here like always, but yeah I really want to downsize :’)  You can offer on anyone that isn’t tagged "nfo", but I only actively want characters tagged eo and uft rehomed (that are linked through the other link). Mostly looking for art! But I’ll consider characters, money & vouchers as well or whatever.
You can also ask for these for free, preferably as a WTA and I’ll def consider. There’s no limit but I reserve the right to not give ‘em away, a few in there are still tentative to me.

Hi so…. My summer wasn’t great 😵‍💫 Tldr, I got diagnosed with celiac disease. I’ve had this serious chronic autoimmune disease since at least 7 years, and what it does is that my body sees gluten as a threat and attacks my intestines when I eat it. To the point that it damages the intestines where it can’t absorb nutrients and what that means is that I’ve been slowly starving for the better part of a decade. It causes stuff like chronic pain (indigestions + joint pain and skin rashes and whatnot), anemia, can lead to varied symptoms like brain damage, osteporosis, hair loss, but most of all, chronic fatigue. This was the worst it’s ever been for me this summer, where I was bedbound most days. Brainfog (GINI) and fatigue have sabotaged my college sessions and so many things have been explained by getting finally, finally diagnosed this summer. It was a surprise to me, but the diagnosis was groundbreaking and I’ve since stopped eating gluten completely (it’s the only treatment for the disease/symptoms), that’s a challenge in itself but I’ll get better from here on out. Some symptoms immediately stop when you don’t eat gluten, but my body will take years to fully recover, the parts that can recover.
What I mean to say is: sorry for anyone I’ve interacted with this summer or year and to which I haven’t been very attentive or decisive 🙇 Thinking and interacting at all have been terribly hard to do, and though it isn’t an excuse for wasting time I hope it’s a comfort of sorts to have a valid explanation. 

On a more positive note, I got a new ipad! An ipad air, with like 256 go of data space, plus an apple pencil! It feels so nice and I’ve already doodled a bunch of stuff and aaa yes I feel myself living again! :]  My fatigue still means I don’t get much done, but it’s a really great start for my recovery. So yeah: higher quality & quicker digital art to come.

Oh I suppose I did want to mention- Since you have to sit and focus etc to draw, I shifted most of my attention to writing instead this summer. Writing what? Fanfiction, of course. And most of the art I make is fanart now I guess? It’s mostly wips rn but I post them on my tumblr fuumiku.tumblr.com , and yeah I draw much less oc stuff than I used to. I still do of course, why, I’m currently drawing a detailled ref for a new dreadnaut design of mine, but I still have shifted most of my life focus let’s say towards fan content rather than oc content. It just brings me more serotonin and feels like less pressure and work. That doesn’t mean I’ll become inactive on Toyhouse, nothing like that, but I just wanted to mention it so people know what’s going on with me and why my typical schedule’s changing.

Annnnd that brings me to: a purge! It’s always going on, I just don’t get much offers on the chars I want to rehome lol. All the important info is in my rehoming character folder but I accept offers on everyone anyways so go ham. I want to downsize!! I’ve wanted to downsize for a long time!! Heya!! It's been a while I've been wanting to post a bulletin on here. My 2022 resolutions include: making more fancontent (fanart, fanfics and possibly animatics, Which, if you're interested in my fancontent, my tumblr is the place to visit), making more comics(possibly a long story one, I've been scripting and storyboarding stuff for a while now) anddd uh, what was my last one? Soo purge wise! I really really want to downsize, I have a lot of ocs I'm not connected with anymore and having them sitting around kind of makes me uncomfy/stresses me out, sooo I'm encouraging offers on characters here, read the folder desc! Ah yes, the desperation gdhcbch. This is a list for longtime dreamies I've been unable to get whatever and however much I offered. I've talked to the owners listed here about three ways and they agreed to receiving three ways offer, dw about that. They're also all ufo characters, no eo ones or for who getting offers is more taboo-ish. You can check in with me before offering or talking with me about it only after you've offered and they've accepted. They're picky with what they'd agree for so I don't expect any one to offer them something they'll like, don't feel bad if you don't. But also pls only offer if you think you actually have something they could be interested in.

Here comes my open species, Dandlefurs!

RULES :

I don't like rules much, but dandlefurs have one rule that cannot be broken,

ONLY DANDLELIONS

no roses, no lilies, only dandlelions, alright it's not fun, but this is the species. You can make the flower colors they can't be in real life though, just stick with the flower shape for consistency. If it's not a dandlelion, then it wouldn't have that kind of seed, and as I said, this is one of the principal things that makes them a dandlefur. For the rest, be creative!

Also, I would like to be notified if you make one. I also ask to be credited for the species as I'm its creator, but you’ll read more about it below

Terms of Service

1. You may not claim the concept of the species as your own. When using them anywhere, please link back to my profile or this journal somewhere in your post. (Toyhouse profile, deviantart uploads, twitter threads, etc)

2. You may not create content of your dandlefur and then commercialize it. (Comic, prints, novels, etc) this may be an open species, but it’s not an open source. This concept and species is still my intellectual property.

3. You may not resell your dandlefur. Gifting and trading is perfectly fine though. If you ever want to get rid of your dandlefur, you can very well just give them to me.

4. Concerning redesigns and ties with the species, you can redesign a character of yours into a dandlefur if its rules allow it. Redesigning a dandlefur to not be a dandlefur anymore is allowed but more though, if you decide to do that, then you must not keep any of the dandlefur lore for them and they must still get a redesign so they can separate themselves from the species as a whole. I’d like to get notified when yiu redesign a dandlefur to not be part of the species anymore.

INFO ON THE SPECIES :

They are inspired of dandelions, all other features were added for lore or aesthetic.

Some examples of what they look like would be that, that, or even that.
They are a little smaller than human, about a head in less, and generally have a small child-like stature, although they can have multiple body types and muscles. They have retractable claws and their flower, seed and fur pattern are very varied, of any color and shape.

They tipically have a short life, a year, in which they birth in spring and die in winter. A dandlefur can live some more years, but they have to be ready for winter. when a seed fall, it will grow in a dandlefur baby, which means they have a lot of babies and are rather common, often referred to as an invasive species. They have retractable claw.

they are sexless, you can assign a gender to them though.

They can have hooves or paws, it depends on their environment. exemple: dandlefurs who live in mountains will have hooves when dandlefurs in the forest will have paws.

Also, their color are based on the seed they are born of: if a dandlefurs lost a green seed, this green seed will grow to be a green dandlefurs.

 

They can have ears and a tail short or long, like a rabbit to like a lizard. They always have ears, also of differing lenghts.

The flowers can be anywhere on the body, but it will be EXTREMELY RARE to see a dandlefurs without flowers in the neck. The flowers change into seeds, that mean that the seeds are where the flowers were on its body.

 

Dandlefur cycle:

spring : bud

Summer: flower

autumn: seed (the seed will survive the winter and the dandlefur will born in spring )

winter: no more seed since they all detached themselves. Death. ( buds grow again if they survive)

FAQ

 

 Q: Do they have a specific language or something?

A: Well, would you consider usual animal sounds a language? Pobably not. They make little cries, they growl, basically the usual obvious way of showing how you feel.

 

Q:  Do they get along with humans? Like, most humans find dandelions to be pests and hate them and some even... eat them. So, do they have the same relationships with humans as actually dandelions?

A: Well, some fear humans, some not, it depends on instincts, how threatening they seem and past experiences with humans. I don't think that an human would jump on them and eat their arms haha. I guess they are not toxic but... they are far from delicacies, and since they somewhat look like humans and show intelligence, it's considered unethical to eat them, like monkeys. For the pest thing, well yes, they have a surpopulation (thank to dandelion's seed ) so sometimes there will be a kind of witch hunt if an area is swarmed with them. A lot of babies get eaten by predators in spring though.

Q: Do they live in towns? 

A: the most live in the forest, but some can decide to reside in abandonned buildings or make houses with leaves and stuff... 

 

Q: Do they live in group?

A: Some are solitary but some like to stick in groups, since they are not with their parent when they are born, they start with nobody and they can cross the path of other dandlefurs eventually and decide to form a group, wich can make a big group after a while.
