Terram Argentum
These characters are a part of a sci-fi/fantasy race called the "argent," and if it isn't obvious, they're former Homestuck fancharacters. They live on a tidally locked planet referred to as Terram Argentum, where the sun only hits one side and the wind only blows one way. I've been working them into something more original over the years (both in appearance and in story), but their origins cannot be denied--each of these characters has a chat handle, rainbow color, typing style, etc.
The cast is aesthetically styled to be nebulously 00s-10s, both in outfits and how they communicate online. They're initially strangers, living all across the world, but their lives become intertwined when they're all drafted into an ARG which promises magic, secrets, and world exploration. If I ever worked on this story properly, I can see it becoming a visual novel with early Web 2.0-esque UI elements integrated into how the plot presents itself.
