Meg's Links
As has been decided as of Now, Johanna is Lindsey's biological grandmother, as well as psychological as well, since she helped to raise her before she was prepared to fend for herself and readily left her forest. It can't be said how perfect or rocky or intimate their relationship was. Chances are due to their personality differences there were some obstacles. But that ultimately doesn't mean much to Lindsey, who still cares for her for what she is.
She hasn't really thought about Johanna or her home much since she's settled in Verbinden and found her place. She's just more focused on the now and present, and isn't really concerned about wondering how her home is doing. But she'd be very surprised, confused, horrified, and relieved all at once to see her again and learn about all that has happened to her.
Potentially linked together through their ties to Ezekiel and being his daughter. Certainly would be adorable content to speak of if it came to light.
Adopted father and caretaker. Though initially scared of having an unfamiliar and intimidating knochen look after her, she warmed up to both him and her new surroundings, and grew to have an emotional attachment to the concept of a father and a parent, eventually calling him dad and/or father without giving it a second thought. She's come to feel his parenting and exposure to the human world has really helped her grow as a person, and she believes she prefers this arrangement to her previous one in the wild.
Sometimes, though, she's reminded of what this is. An arrangement, a choice, something she could technically call off if she wanted to. She has no reason to think she would ever need or want to, she's happy with this life and holds her father in a positive light, but yet, she doesn't know a lot about what lies behind the knochen she calls father...
These two have a long history of conflict between them and an old enemyship waiting to be reignited. It won't be long until their interactions turn into a competition for each other's throats.
Esredes and Ezekiel are in many respects, similar yet opposites, the most obvious of which being that their ideologies and alignments are completely different. While one will stop at nothing to destroy humans, the other will stop at nothing to protect them from knochen threats.
Naturally, with both of them having fought for their respective sides, they've ended up meeting each other in battle or conflict and clashing on multiple occasions, coming to recognize each others' face. However, after a force of anti-human knochen leveled the human village Ezekiel grew up in and Esredes was involved, the hatred on Ezekiel's end reached catastrophic levels. Esredes was also heavily involved in the raid on a human city that would cost Ezekiel his right wing, to make matters even worse between them.
Currently, Esredes is living with the impression that Ezekiel died as a result of that battle, and regards him as an old enemy with an ironic ending that he lives to tell the tale of. His feelings on Ezekiel are less those of burning hatred and more of remembrance of a formidable enemy he fought and won against, sort of an 'it's over and done with' kind of thought process. He certainly doesn't understand Ezekiel's drive to protect humans, and finds it almost pitiful that he was most likely finished off by the very humans he tried to protect.
Upon finding out that Ezekiel survived in the future, he will likely be surprised but yet enthralled in a sense by this twist of fate. Rekindling an old enemyship will be a new experience, and to him, it holds its own sense of excitement.
And as for Ezekiel's own desire to bring upon his death, well... he sure can try.
Rurik serves as Rhea's right-hand man, and she trusts him more than any other mortal... currently-living mortal, that is.
Aruza's thoughts and opinions on Johanna are generally in the positive, and xe respects her despite their differences in how they think. The problem is that while xe admires her desires to make xem and Yve make peace, xe knows it can't happen, and that xyr mindset that Yve is better off dead will inevitably come to cause conflict between them.
The fact that Johanna is now friends with Laomi has also come to make things more complicated. Xe trusts her enough that she won't rat Laomi out to Yve, but still doesn't know how this is going to affect everything between the three of them.
#GRANDMASQUAD
Johanna has been Laomi's only not-dying friend since Aruza went to sleep; they met sometime after it happened as they both visited the tree. Brought together by Aruza, the two of them visit each other semi-frequently and bond over activities like cooking.
Laomi doesn't tell Johanna everything, but she trusts her with a lot more things than she does a regular mortal friend, and Johanna trusts her with things she wouldn't tell Aruza or Yve. They may not click perfectly, but they genuinely care for one another and that's enough for the spiritually-lonely Laomi.
She wishes they could spend more time together than periodic visits, but with Laomi moving around and living a variety of distances away she sort of just accepts it as it is. Sometimes she wonders if she should just move back down to Cypress and live next to Johanna more permanently, but this has never happened.
She's also secretly jealous of Johanna's family; she's never had any children, biological or otherwise, partly due to being afraid of them dying, and her one lover has been in a tree most of the time. If she could have something like Johanna has, that may be nice...
