I just wanted to say thank you for the art of Gaskion! I had a rough start to the day and this was so adorable to come on to see. < 33333 Thank you so much! He just looks so adorable with his fish!
I am not sure how I shall go about sharing it on here as well. I could do a bulletin? Or post on a forum?
Atm I am setting it all up in a sta.sh file and when it's more complete I'll submit as a DA journal. So right now, general public eyes can't see it, unless they across this post to see the link, which you can take a look if you'd like.
But I'll be sure to reach out to ya all the same when it is done~ =3
I think making a forum post would be good! That way more people could see it + they could ask question and others can add things you may have missed :> Though it's up to you in the end! Wherever you post it I'm sure it'll be handy
The sta.sh file is looking good so far! (Also I go by them/them pronouns and yeah my images are 50x50!) Here's a few more things I think might be good on there:
- folder descriptions, they're not super obvious in settings
- trading and selling tags
- worlds and what you can do with them
- spoiler boxes + spoiler text (also a warning to consider themes when doing spoiler text since bg color and text color changed and things may become visible when you don't want them to be or the other way around)
- also a reminder to consider themes on character profiles to makes sure people don't have to highlight all the font to read it
- what exactly premium membership gives you (I've seen a few threads where people are confused about it)
- links maybe?
- how to ping
and that's all I can think of right off the top of my head but I'll let you know if I have more ideas. Some of these things are in other guides already (like the newcomers guide and introduction board) and it might be also be a good idea to link to them instead of writing it all out again.
I have removed the pronouns so nothing is there for anyone. :3 As far as where to post it, if i was to post it onto a forum here - it would be just a LINK to the DA upload. I do not think I'd be able to just copy-paste all the sizing/links that I have going there onto here without a full rewrite. ^^; If this place has the preview option for when writing things that would be a bit different but alas it does not (nor an auto-save). :c
The idea behind this isn't to do what is already out there so I won't be taking from others, but mostly what I've discovered that isn't commonly known to try to help awareness. The goal is to help folks enjoy the place more once they see just how much control they have! Many of the features I plan to cover, a lot of folks don't do and many I've learned didn't even know you could! It's this stuff is what I hope to cover, not the basics most can learn on their own.

I forgot all about that haha. But yes, I like this one. I will add this to the list for sure.

I don't even use these myself so my own knowledge is slim thus I don't think I can really do proper justice on this area. Maybe one day if I have a reason to use it that may change but I don't see that anytime soon.

Are you meaning you want folks to try to consider the colors they use for their theme/layouts? xD Because that is a personal preference.. I have no say on what folks want to do. ;p

I don't see a need for this and why folks would be confused because the site already shares that quite simply too. https://toyhou.se/~premium it shares things on the bottom right. Not really sure what else you'd want? o_O

what exactly you wanting? Like how to MAKE a link?? I already plan to have links added to share the resources that I find useful, for free and premium members alike. ;)

I may have misunderstood the purpose of your guide aha, if it's just stuff you like to use and want to share with others that makes sense too. Sorry if I had too much stuff! This was mostly just what I thought up off the top of my head and of course you don't have to put any of it in if you don't want! (Some notes of what you said though, I don't mean you should be telling people what to do with their profiles, of course not! I just think some people don't realize that their profiles are illegible on other themes but whether they choose to change it or not is up to them of course. And by links I mean links between characters not the things you click to take you somewhere else :>)

yo I just wanted to drop in to say thank you so much for the nice comments about Miles ; o ; I was so so nervous about his bio tbh and I have been fixing and rewording it all day (and probably during the time you claimed the post too sdf) hearing he sounds balanced is giving my soul true peace......
Gosh, I'm glad <3 Your characters are always so well developed I wouldn't think that you'd be nervous about them! That's what being a creator means though huh. I think Miles is really well made! definitely well balanced. :> Also since I'm probably never going to get around to actually leaving a comment on Ivan's profile despite the fact that I have the comment page open in another tab I just want to say that I love him. He's so pretty and also just such a good character <3
omg thank you ;__; I think it's just a creator thing yeah + sometimes some characters like Miles are really hard to put into words when I created him more based on visual things that are more difficult to adapt into text in a good way! Like it'd be easier to show but alas I need to tell it.

I'm gonna continue this here as not to derail the newcomer thread too much, it's really cool that my profiles inspired you! I'm far from done, so I could learn from taking inspiration ;) Sadly enough, uni is very busy haha
That makes sense~ Real life does get in the way when all you want to do is work on ocs. You've got so many ocs which you're working on all at once too! I can't imagine being able to hop between profiles and get very much done at all, I just try to focus on one at a time and write a little bit every day.
Yeah I get inspired whenever I read a cool and completed profile. Imagining that I'll have all my info about my ocs written down one day so that it's easy and accessible for others to read sounds really nice and it's a goal worth working towards.
