im gonna delete this later but i just feel the need to say that!! i AM still doing art fight this year!!!!!! the last few years i went a lot harder and was drawing day one but i am just so tired right now so i might only actually start getting it in gear in a day or two when the site starts working normally
ive gotten it to load well enough to uplaod the refs i finished but i still dont have the patience to wait for much else, like i can SEE that i have two attacks on me already but art fight hates me and wont let me see them so. im still participating i just need a day or two because i am soooooo impatient and the laggy site makes me so mad <3

ive been working making references for everyone, still have to decide if i want to do matching icons too... the idea is cool and it looks so nice but i dont have any ideas so idk i dont really like the icons i made last year or else id reuse those

Here to ramble about my OCs again lol
I really enjoy picking a story beat or personality trait and seeing how many of my guys have it in common. I've been doing it for a long time too like as I was considering if this thought could become a bulletin I realized that as far back as 2018 I was doodling Murray, Dylan, and Ben together, 3 characters that don't even share a universe, but still hanging out because of their shared very specific situation of "dated a character not owned by their artist (me)"
Its also a fun drawing exercise because when I drew the crossover with characters who had Killed before, I hadn't drawn Jonah in years but that gave me an excuse to do so and it was super fun
Future hangouts I want to draw:
- Characters who are dead
- Characters with shit parents
- Characters without parents... ??
- Characters who are based off of someone else (irl/canon character in media)
- Characters who used to literally just be canon characters from media *with a twist* but have become something greater since (very different to #2 on this list)
- Not quite the same but in a similar vein, I want to draw my tallest and shortest characters together
- If it wasn't 130am and I wasn't so sleepy I'm sure I could think of more I'm always thinking about these crossover scenarios
Very fun thought and/or art experience would recommend. Currently working on coloring a hangout between all my OCs who are parents (there are 7 of them, which is significantly more than I thought I had)

I'm a HUGE FAN of AUs, and what ifs, and the like so it's no surprise I properly thought yesterday about the question, "but what if Alfred lived?" Because his death causes a lot of things, sets a lot in motion. and then I wondered, would that be the Reinvented Good Ending? It definitely would not and I've been thinking about it for hours
When I first thought of the characters 3 years ago, of COURSE me and the homies thought about the timeline where Alfred lives. It always went really well, with him and X moving somewhere far away with Evan in tow, saving both of the Price brothers from their cringe ass parents. And then they lived happily ever after. But I'm so positive now as the characters have developed now that they would all still be miserable but for different reasons
Alfred's death was an impulse decision, and really, not even one that he wanted to make. He didn't want to die, he just wanted the stress, the pressure, the pain, to stop. But he didn't want to die and leave X or Evan behind, he wasn't happy with the idea of never getting married or raising kids or anything like that. Maybe in an earlier iteration of his character he would have stayed suicidal even if he had been stopped in the canon timeline, but how I have him written now, it just doesn't feel right. If he had seen another option that night, he would have taken it. But he wouldn't have wanted to leave without X and Evan.
X likely wouldn't have even considered such an option. Not into an actual planning stage, anyway. He may have thought "oh I wish I could just get you out of that situation and take you somewhere safe" but he doesn't want to leave. He wants to graduate, he wants to be close to his parents, he doesn't feel like he's ready to run away and live like an adult at only 18 years old at the time of these events. And he certainly would not want to be a guardian to an 8 year old with anger issues, who also hates his guts. Alfred and X would both have to take up parenting Evan if they decided to take him with, and that poor kid has a ton of issues of his own that wouldn't be solved even if his parents neglect was no longer affecting him.
Let's say this impossible hypothetical happens, though; X and Alfred take Evan to another state and get an apartment and start a new life, just the three of them.
X wouldn't have his highschool diploma since he left before he could graduate, which wouldn't affect his job opportunities too badly if he got a GED, but it would bother him for YEARS. He would really struggle to let go of the fact that he didn't properly graduate. That one "task" being "unfinished" would mess with his self esteem, make him wonder if he even deserves jobs that probably would have hired him, all because he didn't have the diploma he worked 12 years for. He wouldn't know what to go to college for either, so he probably wouldn't go at all. Too afraid to commit to one thing, too indecisive to choose at all. His inspiration for going into psychology in the canon timeline was Alfred's death. Here, he likely wouldn't have the same strong feelings about mental health.
Alfred wouldn't even try to get a job or go to college, not for a while. X would be forced to work entry level jobs just to keep a roof over their head. He would be used to picking up Alfred's slack, but doing his homework for him was a lot easier than manual labor that could have been split between the two of them. Alfred continues to be the same lazy person he was at home, letting things go until someone else does it for him. It worked before, and because of X's lack of patience for things being unfinished, it works just as well now. Alfred would still be self deprecating and depressed, but X wouldn't put the same pressure on him as his parents did. He wouldn't feel the stress of having someone expect things of him. He would become complacent. His lack of empathy for the people around him would get worse. Their relationship would never last. X would eventually say something, Alfred would get defensive, and they'd have to come to the conclusion sooner or later that their relationship was never really healthy.
Evan would be caught in the middle of it all, going to school in an unfamiliar area, with kids he's never met before. He would likely be more closed off in his early years here, instead of how violent he was back home. He had acted out even before he lost his brother, but even as he gets older, the violence is considerably less. He still hates X, hates that he takes up all of his brothers time, and fights him at every turn. The two of them would never be anywhere near as close as they are in the Present/Future Canon timeline. Even without the traumagenic amnesia, he still has a plethora of other mental illnesses he struggles with regardless of timeline, and X wouldn't have any extra income to get him the help he needs. So the household would just be at each other's throats the entire time, miserable and wondering what mistake they had made to end up like this.
I wrote all this in one sitting, total stream of consciousness. Idk what I was getting at but it felt good to put it into words :)
I've always wanted to have a fun ask blog because I love ask blogs but never really felt like my characters were important or cool or popular enough to warrant having one but. I'm watching another ask blog that's someone's OCs get big and theyre having a great time and I decided now is the best time to just try it myself and see what happens :')
The tumblr blog is snickerdoodle-goat which isn't really relevant to the blog type but right now I don't exactly want it to go viral anyway so I'm fine with it being a little vague. It's kinda plain, kinda empty, I just made it tonight pretty much to get the idea down before I lost interest

ive noticed myself becoming bitter towards my human characters because i find their designs(are just human) and world(is just earth) so uninteresting and boring and dumb and im frustrated because i cant even draw human characters comfortably either so not only are the designs boring but theyre also really hard for me to draw and it makes me not want to draw them but i DO want to draw them because i love my characters but i dont want to draw if it looks like crap/just makes me mad because it doesnt look how i want it to
... is this relatable at all am i just at ffault because i made human characters despite knowing i cant easily draw humans (practicing drawing humans is an option but they will likely still be boring af)
theyre humans because i went without drawing them for ages, they were born for literature, and writing humans is easy as anything but then i started drawing them and was like oh this sucks actually. i forgor
ive thougth about incorporating them into other worlds i have like making them into Hirachet or putting them in the Rabbit Western town but neither fits just right. and i feel like a copycat if i start making a fantasy world because everyone and their dog does that and nothing i could come up with would stand out or be more interesting than anything anyone else could make q-q im so thankful for the handful of people who do enjoy my characters as they are and i want to create more for them but where im at now is just Frustrationg
i track every oc i make on a big google doc so i can find information nice and easy but i also have a tab where i mark each character if they are anthro/human/pony/feral, and then if they go by male/female/other pronouns just because i like the look of stats
note; this includes characters that are in my "limbo" tag even though i don't really plan on using them anytime soon they are still contributing to the totals
my findings;
Out of the 124 characters that are on this google sheet:
58 Anthro characters, anything that is an animal and stands on two legs counts
28 Human characters, humans + nonhuman feature also go here (ex. cedar with their cat ears and tail)
11 Pony characters, which only have their own category because labeling them MLP fan characters as "feral" felt weird
26 Feral characters, aka animals that walk on all fours/however the animal usually walks (looks at Rocket, who is a bird and is in this category)
Gender ratio:
note; characters who use multiple sets of pronouns count for each group. ex, Jarldis uses she/he/they so she contributes to every category. the numbers will not add up to 124 like the first section did!
81 characters use he/him pronouns, which is unsurprising. all my life ive leaned towards making primarily male characters idk why
39 characters use she/her pronouns, about half of the he/him group
19 characters use they/them/other pronouns, and 6 of that group use they/them exclusively
extra note: im no longer sure how many ocs are on this sheet. theres 124 rows with character names but when i add the numbers they dont add up to 124 i dont know what that means lmao
extra extra note: figured it out lol. my coding was wrong! fixed the stats. the one character not accounted for is Pebbie, whose species is Rock and therefore does not fall under any of these categories
So I have this story in the works with characters from the Reinvented folder and there's 3 chapters of it finished and 2 more on their way to being finished, as well as another extra one shot of the same group of characters at a different time. Evan's story is pretty heavy as it is, so for me to be unsure if I want to share these other characters' stories, u can maybe see my hesitance perhaps,
the other group of characters' struggles with stuff like past sexual assault and the recovery of such an event, from both the POV of the attacker and the victim. Nothing graphic is ever described in the story but it's suggested very blatantly especially in the prologue chapter and I'm afraid people will 1. Immediately hate the characters and ruin all their street cred even if it's entirely valid for you to do so, 2. Think I'm a gross creep for writing about this stuff at all, or 3. Not want to engage with my characters anymore because of such a heavy topic, which again very valid if you don't want to even after this bulletin is posted I get it it's not a topic everyone is cool with, it's heavy and its dark and it's not written lightly in the story either, but I am still afraid. Of making people uncomfortable 😵
