mika is reliably apathetic and mildly disdainful towards almost everyone, and coltarch is no exception. even when he starts getting uncomfortably close to being a threat, she doesn't harbor much of an opinion on him beyond wanting him out of the picture. but in a very detached way, like how you might want an especially irritating gnat out of the picture. if anything she's much more resentful of heidi for attracting his attention in the first place.
sees them as completely irrelevant, then begins to catch on. coltarch sees insubordination and immediately wants capital punishment and/or national service to be brought back depending on the severity of the crime, so his opinion is rather low
though she was initially dismissive of coltarch, heidi did take notice of his dislike - never one to smooth over antagonism, she initially made herself his problem in any small way she could get away with. eventually she wisens up and tries to retract somewhat, to limited success
immediate dislike and suspicion, which only deepens over time into loathing. heidi is just about everything he finds repugnant, and he certainly isn't immune to her talent of winding people up. though initially incorrect in his suspicions of foul play, he was eventually justified in his distrust
mockley and coltarch have a complicated past - they were closely intertwined at some point, but no longer talk outside of professional conversations. mockley apparently doesn't find this awkward, but in reality is simply very good at hiding her own malcontent.
mockley and coltarch have a complicated past - they were closely intertwined at some point, but no longer talk outside of professional conversations. coltarch is fascinatingly good at making himself not care about things and whatever he had with mockley is largely in the past. oddly, he still seems to expect loyalty from her, which is an unfortunate misjudgement from someone who once knew her so well.
the earthly demons - though unproven, it's highly probable they're all related in some way.

ethos has possibly indicated awareness of the other two's existence and has questioned the morality of experimenting on two angels - normally regarded as deception from a demon. it bears pointing out that it only mentioned two angels, which makes it even trickier to parse meaning from when there's three of them

hatred of the most visceral kind - ricky's life currently revolves around tracking down els, who's done a good job of evading her grasp, with a few close calls. everything ricky has learned about her quarry along her travels has only strengthened her resolve to kill her, though over time the bitter loathing has been joined by a cold and detached sort of pity, turning her quest into something of a mercy kill
fear, bewilderment, paranoia. els is often forced to listen to others gossip about the unprecedented werewolf vampire cow that's stalking the land in pursuit of the werewolf vampire that bit it - which is to say, her. els also wants ricky dead, but largely as a safety precaution, in contrast to the extremely personal desire for revenge and justice that motivates ricky to endlessly follow her through the badlands
cousins. belvedere's content to live out the quieter, simpler life and isn't resentful of florawell's status as a minor deity - they're kindred spirits who get a kick out of causing chaos together, or else competing to cause the most chaos
cousins. florawell finds belvedere's low-key life in the countryside a little quaint and amusing but enjoys his company and taking a break from her busy schedule of work-related mischief to cause hobbyist mischief
tentative, uncharacteristically awkward, occasionally penitent. seemingly wants to talk about something and bury the hatchet, but mika isn't having it. more than a little dejected by the spurning, but nevertheless, she's protective and distantly fond of mika, and, as with heidi, either blind to her flaws or unwilling to let them get in the way of her devotion. they both share more similarities than appearances would let on - a certain calculating ruthlessness disguised by apathy for mika and eccentricity for mockley
tends to be cool and professional around her; there's hints of a former closeness and they occasionally fall into a sort of understanding, clockwork rhythm when working together, but mika is unwilling to get too close to mockley. somewhat aware of mockley's genuine maternal affections for both herself and heidi, she's unsure of what to think about it as it simultaneously forms a certain, undeniable connection between the two, while also alienating mika a bit, unable to reconcile the odd feelings shared between them.
obsessive, tumultuous, contradictory. two very self-involved people who are simultaneously disparate and tantalisingly similar, unable to really pin down the strange emotions they hold for each other and therefore dedicated to going further down the rabbit hole and pushing each other into a very intense mess of a relationship. they simultaneously deeply understand each other and fail to really grasp each other and what makes them close, and it's maybe this lack of understanding combined with the excitement of a relationship that mingles love with hate that keeps them bound together. when they're not at each other's throats, there's an air of elitist, conspiratorial exclusivity about how they interact with each other that is either enigmatic or irritating depending on perspective. fascinated with each other and how they act as mirrors for themselves - once again, there's vanity from both sides here. combined with their mutual obsession for their shared work, it's formed a co-dependency that's not especially healthy for either party but sure makes things interesting
they're very normal about each other
simultaneously reverent and condescending, close and distant - though they spend a notable amount of time together, heidi's perhaps a bit blind to the importance of mockley's presence in her life and doesn't fully appreciate how much she does for her, both actively and passively. nevertheless, they share a sort of bond that outsiders find odd - mockley is seemingly more innocuous and foolish than heidi, which the later finds amusing as she understands her cohort's more Machiavellian nature. they share a love for old movies and especially westerns, which they watch together frequently
though dedicated to maintaining a veneer of professionality and disguising her true feelings both from herself and from other people, mockley is still notably doting of and dedicated to heidi, perhaps even more so than mika. willing to do just about anything to protect the both of them, mockley's seemingly blind to any shortcomings of her proteges. there's an unquestioning, selfless dedication underpinning her side of the relationship - flippantly underappreciated by heidi in all her self-involved arrogance. they're still close and share an unlikely bond, which mockley greatly depends on following the souring of her relationship with mikan.

fellow acolytes. svanhildr is nervous, deferential and especially diligent around herbert, even though she is technically due more respect as a lanternbearer. this increases tenfold once she inadvertently gets them involved in her plot to aid wishbone
fellow acolytes. herbert treats her much the same as everyone else - with a scrutinising eye and cool, guarded distance. initially furious at getting dragged into a rule-breaking endeavour, they nevertheless play along out of fear of repercussions, albeit bitterly and unpleasantly
brother and sister. lucille is unusually sweet with thomas and dotes on him with gifts and compliments, which he hates viscerally - her semi-frequent visits to his mountain home are a form of bullying and immensely satisfying for her. not so much for him. she enjoys goading him into revealing his weak emotions and occasionally beats him up to make a point. pretty apathetic aside from that
brother and sister. although he is sickly and weaker than her, he always ends up trying to kill her when she visits, which, for a sphinx, is a pathetic loss of control of his emotions. Jealous of pretty much everything she has - and resentful because of it. despite his vitriolic hatred of her, if she were to die, Thomas would be a lot more distraught than she would be if he died - sphinx relationship dynamics are weird.
